Hi one and all, After so many people have asked me to organise a re-union soul night' i've finally decided to do it Details to follow later. Hi again Not long now to the "groves re-union" HAXBY SPORTS & SOCIAL CLUB 64 NORTH LANE, HAXBY, YORK, YO32 3JP SOUL-ON SOUL CLUB SOUND OF YOUNG AMERICA 7.30....12ish DJ's.....STEVE BRADLEY...MICK BURNETT....JOHN FUNNELL....KEV BAINBRIDGE INFO....CLUB....01904-768300 £3 O.T.D(same price as when we started) Thought i'd give a bit of background, shake up a few memories! The original dj's were...myself, steve bradley, nick beilby & andy bellwood. It's an age thing but can't remember start & end dates(feel free to post if you can remember), the building got knocked down to make way for apartments etc. Punters were a cross section:-heartbeat & hypnotique clubs, plus people from outside the york area, always a full venue and a great crowd, hope to see a few i haven't seen for a while. After the club shut, time passed and we tried a new venue at the "bay horse" in marygate. I didn't anticipate the reaction and we sadly had to turn people away, so like i say i've been talked into giving it a go at a bigger venue "haxby sports & social". Music policy was generally everything the punters new & would dance to apart from first 30-45mins when i played underplayed motown..."B" sides etc. If anyone can recall anything not mentioned please post it up, there is also a Facebook page, kindly set up by Marie Mortimer.
