  1. Try the Lower Turks Head in Shudehill. They have regular Northern nights and Sunday afternoons. Around the corner from Printworks. Might be worth giving them a ring.
  2. Ty Karim - You Just Don't Know https://youtu.be/xm_ZDeFOs9g
  3. Bugger, just saw your reply Gerry and I sold it on ebay this afternoon! Thanks anyway
  4. Always loved the drums on Just Ask me - Lenis Guess. Sounds like he's having a proper workout
  5. Cat's Whiskers lol remember walking up those stairs and leaving me loafers behind stuck to the carpet! Back on topic: Emotions Best of my Love, Frederick Knight I've Been Lonely For So Long, Tavares Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel, Joe Simon Step By Step, New York City, I'm Doing Fine Now, Chi-Lites Homely Girl, Change Glow of Love McFadden & Whitehead, Ain't no Stopping Us Now Donnie Elbert, Little Piece of Leather Evelyn 'Champagne' King Shame Marvin & Tammi If I could Build My Whole World Around You Stephanie Mills Never Knew Love Like This Before Odyssey If You're Looking For A Way Out Dorothy Moore Misty Blue Just a few off the top of my head. This should be easy but actually takes a bit of thought.
  6. Lived in Zimbabwe and South Africa from 86 to 2001 and used to hear his music all the time, on radio, in clubs & bars etc, particularly Sugar Man & I Wonder. Never gave any thought to who he was though until I saw him on the Andrew Marr show.
  7. 10 from me: Furys I'm satisfied with you Johnny Wyatt This thing called love Artistics This heart of mine Formations At the top of the stairs Servicemen Sweet magic Gloria Jones Come go with me Imperial C's Someone tell her Poets She blew a good thing Superlatives I still love you Spellbinders Help me
  8. Whist not wanting to detract from what should be a great show, just have to say what a typical politician jesse jackson comes across as: ''This is our culture, this is our music'. Yeah there's a bandwagon to be jumped on. This music defined a generation, black or white.
  9. Fully agree Mick, we went to MEN show on Friday, slightly different running order, 4 Tops closed the show. Like you I was very disappointed with their set, surely they must realise that we're there to hear the songs that made us like them in the first place (My Way ffs). Thought the rest of the show was really good though and agree with your comments about Tavares, great performance. TBH I got bored with the Tops and left before they finished, as did a lot of others. Such a shame.
  10. Really touched by this, what an awful situation - small donation sent, hope it helps
  11. Sorry, but anything by Rufus Lumley, c&w at it's worst
  12. I've downloaded a few Pete, will send a tenner tomorrow.
