  • A brief intro...
I'm from Keighley originally and got into soul and Lambrettas centuries ago back in the 60s - Blackpool Mecca, Birdtrap, Scarborough and anywhere else we could get on a scooter were fave venues.  Unfortunately (on many counts!) I married someone who hated soul so I was completely soul-less for many years.  A new life, new partner a few years ago and we're now making up for it - the love of soul is as strong as ever - it still makes me happy,  makes me cry and just wish my arthritic knees would keep up with the need to dance!

  5. A bit of technical help please if poss. is there a ready made product out there - ie an overhead camera over the turntable and the technical bits that can project the record being played onto a back screen at venues? I assume this has to be linked to a laptop, with the facility to switch the screen from one turntable to the other. or ..... Can anyone advise how to do it please? Seen it done at some venues and with the number of boots etc in circulation, think it would be a good idea. many thanks
What a great chilled afternoon listening to a varied mix of music. Really enjoyed it.
  6. Lots do but all time tear bringers are kenny Shephard What difference does it make now Grover Mitchell - what hurts Artistics - this heart of mine
  7. Theres a ghost in my house Carstairs (sorry!) Muriel Day they make me sit down immediately!
  8. yes - the box set of single vinyls was about $70 (plus expensive postage) from USA about 3 months ago - missed out on that, and been searching for it ever since!
  9. thought it was ok overall - gave it a 4. I really liked Paul Mason - a sympathetic and involved view. However, I thought the kung fu reference was a cartload of *********:! I'm a child of the twisted wheel and the highland room, blackpool mecca in the 60s - we were dancing like that way before Bruce Lee kung fu'd his way onto the screen. Too many circle skirts too. Enjoyed it though
  10. so much more they could have shown - but I think it captured the feeling we all get from the music
  11. hmm yes - we've been to a northern do where the 'guest' dj charged £100 for his services and played cds. Sorry, but not on, in my opinion
