This year sees some exciting changes for us at HoB and chief amongst them is the news that the brilliant ANTON LUDWIG will be joining us on a permanent basis behind the decks. Not only is his record collection truly breath taking but he's a top bloke as well. Also joining us in our 'newbie' spot will be the young and upcoming JOZEF LUDWIG who is making a name for himself on the scene. Doors open at 7 and we go on till 12. Just £5 on the door and hosting a large dance floor and state of the art sound system, come join us at the home of soul in South London.

Saturday the 8th December sees the House of Bamboo Soul Club return once again to the iconic Portico Gallery, West Norwood. Not only is it our Christmas event but also the celebration of our second year of bringing soul to the heart of South London. With the regular HoB Djs (Neil Stroud, Adam Jenkins and David Diston) we are delighted to be joined on the night by the legends that are ANTON & JOZEF LUDWIG. They are some of the best know characters on the scene today and can be seen in any almost any venue up and down the country either on the dance floor or behind the decks. Anton has a truly amazing collection of rare and popular records that is almost second to none, and it's fair to say we will be in for a treat on the night. Staring at 7 and going on till 12 come join us for another great night of Northern Soul to Motown and everything in between.

We are back once again on the 11th August for another night of quality soul sounds from Northern Soul to Motown and everything in between. Fast becoming the home of soul in South London, come join us at the iconic Portico Gallery, West Norwood and join our ever growing crowd of shufflers, back droppers and spinners. As well as the usual line up of house DJs, Adam Jenkins, Neil Stroud and David Diston we are proud to announce that we will be joined by the amazing ANN TAYLOR. Ann needs little introduction (Teddington, The Dome and Folkstone) and we are very excited to have her join us behind the decks. This year we are pleased to be officially part of the West Norwood fest celebrations so we are expecting another storming night. With a large excellent dance floor, state of the art sound system and fully stocked bar we hope you will join us for another night of quality soul.

July the 9th see another night of quality soul sounds and dancing at the House of Bamboo. Bringing northern soul, tamla motown, seventies grooves and more to the fantastic Portico Gallery, West Norwood, SE27 0HS. The gallery is an old converted theatre which hosts a massive dance floor, cheap bar and a state of the art sound and lights system. It's 2 mins walk from West Norwood station with excellent transport links to the city. With the regular house DJs Adam Jenkins, Neil Stroud, David Diston and Tom Ambrouse spinning their usual mix of sounds, we will be joined by two guest DJs Martin Grover and Liorah Tchipro. Now in our second year we hope you will join us at what is fast becoming the home of soul in South London. From 7 till 12 and just a fiver on the door, it's time to dust off your dancing shoes!

After the barnstorming success of our first two nights in West Norwood, House of Bamboo triumphantly returns to the Portico Gallery on June 24. Playing a smooth concoction of northern, rare, Motown, 70s grooves plus a sprinkling of Latin and R&B, South London's newest and hottest soul joint is back. As usual, doors open and the twistin' and indeed the shakin' starts at 7pm ON THE DOT. We go til midnight. A bargain of a night out at £5 entry, House of Bamboo offers our soul brothers and sisters an amazing, huge dance floor (TALC FRIENDLY ALERT! TALC FRIENDLY ALERT!!) to throw all sorts of shapes, as well as a well-stocked bar and other exciting additions, such as stalls, to be confirmed nearer the date. Resident DJs David Diston, Adam Jenkins, Tom Ambrose and Neil Stroud will of course be back with a sizzling blend of soulful sounds. Plus we are delighted to be joined by the lovely LISA LANE behind the decks. Local artist Martin Grover will be back displaying his soul inspired art, as well as (oh yes) our screen of only-ever-so-slightly-cheesy 1960s soul singers performing the original classics. If you've been before, we are sure you will agree the Portico Gallery is fast becoming the home of soul in this corner of the capital. Back by popular demand, South London's hottest soul joint the House of Bamboo returns to West Norwood's Portico Gallery on April 22 (7pm-midnight). After an electric first night earlier this year, the northern soul, Tamla Motown and retro 70s grooves are back with a vengeance! Resident DJs David Diston, Tom Ambrose, Neil Stroud and Adam Jenkins will be joined by special guests SARAH JANE and KEN WAY on the night. Trust us, you do not want to miss this. As usual, doors open at 7pm sharp, we dance and twist until midnight and the bar is open all night long. All tickets available on the night for the modest sum of five English pounds (£5). Portico Gallery is an exquisite venue for sizzling soul sounds, with a huge dancefloor which is - whisper it quietly - TALC FRIENDLY (oh yes!). Get this date in the diary.
