Hi Soulies, We would like to give you some information about the Weekender in September 2022 (09. - 11.). While infection numbers are rising in Germany to new record highs at the moment, we are confident that this wave will calm down by summer. There is a really good chance to celebrate a normal Soul Weekender early September under some soft Covid rules (jabbed, tested, recovered). Last week all local clubs reopened and it is allowed to dance again. During the next weeks the online tickets for the Soul boat tour on Sunday will be on sale. We will post the link to the tickets shortly. You don`t need to make a ticket reservation for the main venue (just pay at the door – it worked fine for 15 years) and the Alldayer is admission free anyway. Now for the not so good news: After one and a half decades the challenge to organise such a big event has taken its toll on us from year to year. Don`t get us wrong: We still love to see so many people from all over Europe to have a good time together in our hometown, but it would be nice to be there as guests and not as hosts for a change. After some discussions we therefore decided to end the annual Hamburg Soul Weekender after this year in September for now. Maybe we will do it again in a few years, maybe not. Never say never, but right now we all need a break from the routine. So if you like to come to Hamburg for the final big party, with lots of laughter and tears, fantastic Soul music from great DJs, the friendliest crowd you can wish for and to build some great last memories, make sure to book your flights, trains and accomodation while you can. Soulcentral: I`m not a lot on Soul Source myself anymore, just seen your post a few minutes ago. We`re doing the Hamburg Weekender traditionally on the first complete weekend in October. We have the german reunion day on the 3rd, so a free day from work for everyone over here. People often like to stay a few more days in Hamburg for sightseeing and have a little holiday around the Soul thing. I talked a few times with Alex, one of the promoters of Bilbao and they have a free extra day during their Weekender in Spain as well. There is no greed, harm, jealousy between us and we communicate before the events and wish each other a big success. I don`t think something will change with the numbers of the guests (both events are packed anyway) if one of the 2 events will be a week before or after. People getting older and two international Weekenders in a row are a bit rough for most of us. Cheers Ralf -

Yet, his solo career and the albums he produced with his Love Family band failed to achieve success, due partially to dodgy record label practices that saw his recordings distributed under the names of other artists. Now, at the age of 70, Rudy Love is beginning to see his work rediscovered by artists including Jay-Z, and is finally achieving the respect he has long deserved. Featuring interviews with legendary musicians George Clinton and Mick Fleetwood, THIS IS LOVE is a story of artistic struggle told with a sense of redressing past injustices.
