It takes very little ability to find fault, that's why there are so many critic's.

When profanity reigns, vulgarity invariably prevails.

What a week we'd had before Rugby!! Do explain I hear you shout, Ok as you've asked so nicely. It was holiday time again & we could hear the Mambo Italiano beckoning or Lake Garda as the tickets stated, then the fun begins, there are 2 Garda's on the Lake, 1 is 40 min's from airport & the other 2 hrs 15 min's from airport, ok so I got them mixed up & we had a long, long taxi ride, we're all fallible, after 3 days there I notice my credit/debits are missing, they've been nickedo, it's a Mafia conspiracy, their gonna make me an offer I can't refuse & it may involve a horse & I daren't get in a boat on the Lake even though my names not Freddo, Bada Bing,Bada Boom!!! So I spent an eternity on-line & on the blower to the card companies just for them to wind me up like a spinning top, because under data protection & because I failed the security exam they cannot tell me if my cards will be cancelled, thank you not very much as I become the erupting Mount Etna spewing expletives like molten lava all around, anyway panics over & lets enjoy the last 3 days of torrential rain before arriving at departures to find I had left my Belcher chain, Signet ring & Wedding ring in the bloody safe at the hotel, told you it was a conspiracy, they have promised to return it to me,if they ever answer my e-mails.Back home at last & as we drive off I open the arm rest & ?, yes you guessed it,there lies my credit/debit card wallet, Oh my God, you plonker Rodney!!!!!!!

So as you can see we badly needed cheering up & as I can't afford another holiday just yet we'll have the next best thing, a trip to Right on Ruggers where you always feel welcome & we were ready for some Soul, smiles & smashing times, this place & it's people always put a smile on my face, plus we knew Toby was going & we ain't him seen in a while. So like 2 giddy teens were off by 6.45 heading darn sawf, stopping to fill the car with juice, bloody hell I thought there was a great hole in the tank as it zoomed passed £75 faster than a cat with a rocket up it's arse on mischievous night before settling like a roulette wheel by chance at £83 plus,I've been robbed!!!!!!! Now The good new is that the M1 is no longer a car park or a long car conga dance but has reverted to a motorway (For how long we don't know) so we arrived £4 early to bump into Wee Willie Winky (Soulgrit) & friend in the carpark, then Vic & Lynsey with Johnny Fingers before paying Sir Kenneth of Backdoorshire our tax whilst his harem looked on btw why do door the doormen stand like a set of double yellow lines down the ramp in? I keep waiting for them to pipe everyone aboard, just a thought. Quick drinks order & a chat with Steve C who tonight & for one night only,as he told me after,he will be impersonating a record dealer, as usual I got Angie mixed up with Alison H,don't ask me why cos I've not a clue but Steve nearly wet himself when she said to him "I'm sure I recognise him from somewhere?". Big "Hello" to Toby from me & a Hug from Gail as he stands a bit shell shocked & even more so when Dave & Steff arrive, Mrs Soul actual remembers I'm not Mike Cog,nice to see Derek & Glynis,Andy K,Nesta & Tony,Ezzie & Nick the one liner, Roger Banks but no Jen,Mr Weston put in an appearance & Geoff & Sue arrive as always with Albums & Alcohol, tucked away by the door are 2 of my favourite people Dave & Donna, always like a short chat with Donna,Col & Shirl arrive with Dale,Andy H & birthday boy Rich Bayley,Ted Massey limbers up for his spot by discussing his exotics & succulents with Gail, so I'm off into the darkness where I bump into Imberboy who's dressed like a reject from an Andy Pandy audition,"No hat,no gloves,no boots, bibalee, bibalee, bob", also Billy Whizz the Wayne Sleep of Soul,Nesta & Tony plus in there are The Three Amigos, Big Paul,Kev H & Steve L,or as I like to call them The Three Montego's, cos they're old & rusty & they'll be bloody lucky to make it home in one piece.

Couple of Beardy wierdy's no one seemed to know at the back of the room trying it seemed to blend into the wallpaper but watching like Hawks & ocassionally springing into action on the dancefloor, anyway the music was good in both rooms, I caught most of Loren's set & was so impressed I had to tell him but he struggled with my dulcet Yorkshire tones & looked bemused as I explained,"Tha did a reet gud spot, tw'a top cocker,I it wa brimein',tha shud b proud o' thee sen lad" but I think it eventually sank in,either that or he was just being polite so I'd pi** off, I did notice he suddenly developed a weak bladder & shot off to the bogs.Johnny Fingers set was a fair old mix & most enjoyable & how good it was to hear out Alexander O'Neal - Since I've been loving you & an old Cleggy fav Nate Evans - This time with feeling plus I never tire of Sidney Joe or Otis Blackwell, class sheer class, Col Wood played a blinder, well he is a great mate, playing Mixed Emotions for Gail & he always slips in Porgy & the Monarchs, Ooh Aah Mrs. What can you say about Ted the Exotics Man, other than excellent as ever with Paul Vann,Little Soul,Volumes,Henry C,Harvey Averne,Sandi Sheldon c/u,the list goes on.Pity you can't do 2 rooms at once but I've not mastered that yet.Managed finally late in the night to say "Hello" to Dean & the lady who runs it with him, eh,don't help me I'll remember in a moment????:g: Shan't,yes thats it,Shan't, nice lady, good with a camera.

Couple or 3 highlights of the night,Lionel with no shoes & trying to smoke a roll up Gail had rolled but paper inside out, Mrs Soul bollocking someone for moaning about the music, good girl, Big Paul trying to drowned us both with Gail's G&T, finally whilst talking to Jo Brock (Who swears she's put pounds & pounds on,Yeh my arse!!!) Shirl shouts across the room,"Showing plenty of cleavage in that low top" to which Jo replys "They're ready to explode out", so being well read up on Health & Safety plus being the gentleman that I am I kept a very close eye on the said explosive devices the rest of the night, well you would wouldn't you??:hypo:

So Thank You to all the Shiney Happy People for an enjoyable night of fun & frollicks, thanks also for the invite for a mugger & a vol-au-vent bak at Chez Shan't but as you know we need to get home, so made a small detour to Bury & arrived home at 2pm,so those carefully laid plans went right out the sodding window, last but not least why whenever I go to Benn Hall do I get the overwhelming urge to pull into the Police Station & confess to a crime????:g:

Take care,be safe & remember,"You can have it all,You can take it all away,From where we left off,Living it all your way,If you'll stand in my shoes,If you'll do what I do",
Spot.:)

p.s. Almost forgot Steve LeAir & Sam were suppose to be there early & I got a little worried when there was no answer to my phone call,Oh my God they've had an accident I thought, when they arrived I asked why so late, "Well we had to stop enroute so Sam could eat his pack up!!!!!!!!!!!!!", Cheese & pickle or what? Takes all kinds!!!!

Pete dont forget to remind Gail to pm me with the exotic she wants;) wish my pen was a good a writer as yours

Sorry am late in posting :D Just to say I thoroughly enjoyed Rugby niter, there was an excellent mix of sounds and something for everyone played.

Was lovely to see a lot of the SSLAAS in the spiritual home :D including Mark fresh from Florida and also was great to see Loren from France, Harry n Di and Nogger. I spent quite a lot of the night in the little alternative room and thought there was fantastic sounds played in there, in fact I don't think I heard a bad record played in there, then I went in the main room later on and excellent spots done by Dave Rimmer, Johnny Fingers and Ted Massey

Was great to meet Manus and also Ang B along with some other fellow sourcers.

Thanks to Tabs for the choccies, Richard Bayley for our chats and the lovely Del for the toffees and natter. Also thanks to Phil Shields for the transport to and from the train station and to the venue :D and to Sian and Dean for the tea party afterwards. Right that's the end of me oscar speech

I always say you've had a good niter, when your feet hurt, your sides ache with laughing so much and you feel minging
