i arrived early doors to find wigan brian spinning a few tunes..a few ppl in and chatting..it wasnt long before rossi and friends turned up and then he took to the decks...all nice plays so far...i eventually took over but after ten mins of my spot i got a phone call from the mrs telling me she had had an accident..in true hero style i finnished my set before rushing home to find her lying on the sofa bandaged up and resembling a badly finnished mummy.....my rendition of monster mash didnt go down to well...cant really say much else as i didnt make it back to the venue
whilst i was there it was great music all the way and nice to meet everybody that attended....playlist to follow once i find them
regards moldie
ps...thanks for invite brian..sorry i had to dash off
Thanks for starting the thread Mick ,It was a pleasure having you spinning some fantastic tunes , and getting the dancers up nice and early .So sorry you had to leave early ,and i hope Carol`s ok!
Rossi played his usual eclectic mix of modern ,latin , and almost funky tunes ,which prompted the bar owner to say "that`s not northern " my reply was " i know ,but the dance floors full " which it was ,
My own set varied as always, swung from Motown, northern ,through to 70s and played several requests for some travellers from Australia ,who were over for the I.O.W. scooter rally the weekend before , all in all a very enjoyable evening even though the numbers were down until the footie finished ,the sound system sounded great ,especially as the venue`s accoustics aren`t the best .The only downside of the night was the couple (i assume in their forties ) kept asking for the music to be turned down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tossers!
( not soulies i might add , )
Big thank you to Rossi & Moldie for D.J.ing and the bar`s owner,
for asking me to arrange the night ! all being well another night will follow in november ,
Cheers! WiganBrian.
