Here we go,

Sunday October 30th

Down in the Cellar

The Victoria

Manchester Road

Heywood

7.30 til 12.30

£1 otd.

As numbers have been a bit thin for the last coupla months it looks like the owners are gonna pull the plug,

so our next one could well be our last one here.

Thanks to everyone who supported our efforts, especially the jockers, Tony Mac, Stevie Z, Killer, Ted

Paul Harris,Rachel and special mention for Sid Jones for his support and enthusiasm.

See Ya.

Hi Tony, sorry to read the news.As you know I ran a number of venues on a Sunday night for several years ,both in Heywood and Bury and apart from local soulies not many support.Organising and setting up and taking down equipment etc etc may not be as involved as running a Friday or Saturday event but nevertheless it means committment(usually to the funny farm!) .I had great support from Carl and Maria for many years,a big thanks to them too, also to Tony Mac and all the guest DJs.Hope you have a packer and decide to continue.ATB Stevie Z

Thanks Steve,
As you know I frequented The Albany when you was at it,and was treated to some great music.

Our dissapointment is, however, further increased by all the folk who asked us to start it in the first place and never bothered to show.

It could well be that Sundays are a none starter, and we are busily looking for somewhere new, but with so many Friday and Saturday do's on it's difficult not to clash.

Oh well.
Per ardua ad astrum

Tony
BTW great spots on your appearances, thanks again

Hi Tony,we need an eight day week ie a "Sounday " which would cater for current promoters only who put effort into venues running on a Sunday at the moment. No big name promoters allowed!I am sure soulies on here will provide "new" terms for these events.ATB Stevie Z

See ya Sunday

Hi Tony & Steve

Soz I havn't attended the venue for a couple of months, its difficult to get out fri, sat (& Sundays too!) Im usually too knackered to venture past the front door on a Sunday evening.

Hope you find somewhere new and get the support you deserve. Me and my mates have had some great nights at your events over the past year or so. Always nice to hear something different played when we attended, and I usually sold a few 45s too, sometimes enought for a fish n chip supper on the way home!

Take care and let me know when you get your new venue sorted

cheers

Paul

Teaser Time.

we have been asked to do a Motown and Club soul Night on 17th Dec.

Went to suss the room last night and it looks good.

Owners are up for it so it looks as though we got a new home for the new year.

One thing is for sure --it won't be a Sunday  .

Let you know more later.
