Must start off by saying a big thanks to the Hipshaker Guys for asking Southampton soul Club back to spin some soulful choons in the Guest room on the friday night...Really looking forward to spinning some choons in a gr8 venue to a gr8 & up for it crowd and catching up with gr8 freinds...

Sorry for the delay in posting on this thread been haveing a nightmare with the lap top...i've managed to highjack one for a couple of hours today...hopefully by the end of next week i should be back to normal...

This is promising to be a cracking weekend with the other soul clubs joining the Hipshaker team...all the dj's have quality tunes...

Myself & Chilli will be Joined By Mr Tony Castle(shake your mini) & Mr Simon Preston(newbury soul club)...the soulies will be in for a real treat as both Guest dj's have outstanding collections and will be spinning top draw soulful choonage behind the soulful wheels of steel...

It's gonna be a cracking weekend indeed...bring it on...

For anyone waiting for tickets to arrive, I Spoke to the box office today. The tickets haven't been in long but they've agreed to try to get all currently paid for out by the weekend ...... they have sold a fair few. They said there is a message of some sort in the confirmation email sent out to people that says something like they will be sent out nearer the event too.


and a timely reminder to get tickets in advance, especially for saturday. the tickets have been selling a little quicker in general than last year.

Arrived at The IOW to discover I had forgotten my Hipshaker tickets!!!! After a lot of mess tins with faxes and e-mails with my wife and son sending Jpegs of the tickets, I would like to thank the lovely lady on the door for being cool about this and letting me and my group in, thanks xx

The do was exactly what I expected with loads of people just going for it, more than many dressing the part and doing the “Mod” thang, it is The IOW after all!
I snuggled into the Northernsoul room and enjoyed the “Survern” take on Northernsoul with its RnB type flavour, I was very surprised and well pleased to hear an hour of seventies classics that went down a treat.

The crowd wasn’t the Allnighter crowd, not too sure what I expected but I had a great time anyway, it was a little bit like a soul night, maybe that’s because it was?
The ticket price was very good and there where savings to be had booking on line early, the beer garden was a welcome break but now a strong hold of the smoker, who would have guest? LOL

Great time, good fun, not too serious, I will be there next year
