Got there at about 7.45pm to a lovely greeting by Karen & Val.

Both Pete & Steve already spinning choons and getting the night off to a great start with a really nice mixture of Oldies & Underplayed. Something for everyone to get you right in the mood for what become a Fantastic Night.

Mick Boyle did the first Guest set from 10 - 11 and kept the floor full with some good owd classic choons with the odd underplayed thrown in. Just Perfect... Nice Set Mick.

Glyn Sisson then took over at 11 through till midnight and played some really top choons "right up my street"... Four Perfections, Ritchie Adams, Ellusions, to name a few. I don't dance much now with the dodgy ticker, but Glyn had me up there for a few.... Top Set Glyn.

At midnight the ever reliable pair of Pete Taylor & Steve Brown came back on to finish the night.... again, choon after choon right from the top drawer.

This venue is only £3.50 entry to what I can only describe as probably the best venue on the scene. You walk in to see a Stage lay-out which is second to none. The back drop embroidered flags covering the entire stage with a great looking deck front. At the back of the room, again 3 massive back drop flags to cover the rear wall. Large "Sprung Wooden Dance Floor". Fantastic all-round sound system. Not forgetting to mention a real cheap bar (WMC prices).

Thank you for yet another "Awesome Night" with Pure Top Quality Choons played "ALL-NIGHT".

Was it worth the 185 mile round trip.............. You bet it was...... THANK YOU.

Regards, Bridgey & Linda.

PS: Thanks to Lisa & Neil for the great hospitality and looking after us all night and thanks to Martin & Cath for there company, nice to see you both again.

Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though chequered
by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirts who neither enjoy nor suffer
much, because they live in the grey twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.

Can only agree and mirror Bridgey's comments, first time for us at the North Wings but certainly won't be the last. Proper soulie night, good to see people in their gear, makes the atomosphere better than ever. Went in cool and calm and came out a "sweaty mess" thanks to the dancing and the heat in the room, by it was bloody warm in there!

90 mile round trip for us, but again well worth the visit, Record of the night for us (for the girls anyway), Baby by Ellie Greenwich, top tune, thank to Pete and Steve for enlightening us with the sound.

Ian/Linda you know your'e welcome any time, me casa, su casa as they say.

Speak to you soon and thanks North Wings for the more than warm welcome.

What a weekend. Blackhearts Friday, Nirth Wings Saturda, just need Spurs to win their opener - oh well, as Meatloaf said ' does that come with fries ..'
What a fantastic night it was. Some regular faces were missing cause of the Nuneaton nighter but their places were taken by some new
ones, made a few new friends !!
Always first on the Calander at the start of the month and always a great night. The guests did Nottingham proud and was very much appreciated by the floor.
See you all same time next month

Thanks for all the above comments , glad you all enjoyed North Wings
It was another busy night and as Llicros commented very hot and sweaty too :sweatingbullets:
Apart from being a lot of bodies in the place , the other reason for it being rather hot ( as we found out the next day when we went to put the equipment away ) was that the air conditioning unit had broke down at the back of the room during the night .
I'm looking forward to next month already when we have on ( as Pete said above ) the 2nd visit of Ted Massey, and ( even though he's dj'd a couple of times at Annesley ) it will be Pat Wallace's first time behind the decks for us at North Wings.

All the best
Steve B
