How many have the same label style as that Precisions 45? I've not seen that before.

Quite a few of the early ones have that design in various different colours Dee Edwards #1024 #1031, Armand Kay #1028, Don Heart #1030, Cody Black #1032

This one is interesting as it shares the same number as the Hesitations release

Decent early sounding double-sider

Pretty sure I have seen this as a DJ Copy also - anyone confirm please?

Great Fab Peps release on a WDJ

Of course there are two different mixes of this - the 219 mix the best. The other is much rarer - contrary to what it says in Manship's guide.

Here's an issue with the 689 mix

As the Peps rather than the Fabulous Peps - plus the other side song title is mis-spelt

Agreed, although I prefer the 689 mix, took me ages to get hold of it after having and sold the 219 one(several times). Never seen a demo of that (689) anyone?

The ones in the SoulfulKindaMusic listing on the link from the first post are 1980s releases - plus some of the details are incorrect/incomplete:

8018 – Jena Johnson – Livin’ In Love In New York / ? - 1966
8100 – Joey Rubins Jr – Let The Beat Groove You On / Together Again - 1966
8108 – Cardella Demillo – Gimmie Whatcha Promised Me / Inst - 1966
940 – Coy’s Toyz – Come And Get It / ? - 1966

Sadly all these early numbers are lo-fi...I particularly like Don Heart's 'Don't Give In' ...on a light blue label.

Lee Rogers - It must Be Love (Coming Down On Me) is a brilliant Stepper (from 1980)
the other side of Jena Johnson is - Jackie
Joey Rubins, JR is (from 1982)
The other side of Coy's Toyz is Party Girl (from 1986)

The Label is the same design as the classic 60's yellow label ie the Peps My Love Looks Good On you (1065)
All are from California either Los Angeles or Hollywood the label was owned by Lee Rogers he also owned Platinum Sound during this time.

Agree My lover Come Back is the better side of the Precisions double sider.

Also got the hard to find Cody Black - These Chains Of Love (1032) on a orange label similar to Lee Rogers (1029)

Regards

Paul

Old 100 Club screamer, although fair to say it may not be a 100% Detroit production?

Hi Dave

Yes, isn't that a West Coast project bought in and released on the label?

Also, wasn't Roosvelt Grier a pro football or baseball player - or am I getting confused with someone else?

Dimensions - Little Lotta Lou/He's A Lover - D-Town 1038

For some reason many D-Town discographies list 'Little Lotta Lou' as a track entitled 'The Dimensions'.

Actually, that was just how it was originally listed in Rod Dearlove's - A Collector's Guide to Detroit and later in Chris Moores' - Soul Express Detroit special from the mid 1980s.

Does this exist on issue?

Here are both sides.

Cheers

Richard
