The guy found all the remaining stock not so long ago. One or two got a copy cheap and sold on ebay for lots, he saw this happening and came on here to tell the story. he was selling them all at a reasonable price. I'll see if I can find the link when I get a bit of time.

Maybe it's a bit of a marmite one but for those that get it it sits near the summitt of the genre. The drums are phenomenal. Both sides just blow me away everytime. Although I like Rock Candy's version too, the DD's has such balls!

Hi Jeff, nice article, and awesome photo. But it doesn't mention that "I don't think I'll ever love another" is a cover of Rock Candy on Dontee. I assume the Rock Candy version was first, as it was a group Joe Tate produced in DC. Just FYI.

the drums are good but the singing is quite poor to be honest. Shame realy with a strong vocal it would've been pretty good.

do you know the rock candy original version of "I don't think I'll ever love another"? My favorite record of all time and you definitely can't say the singing's not good. It's not psychedelic like the darling dears though.

I have listened to it a few times and think I might have it on a CD comp somewhere. I can't remember it exactly so I will dig it out and listen again.

If its got a strong vocal chances are I will like it and the fact its not psychedelic may also improve it for me.

Agree with PETE on this, very average, vocals remind me of a lot of bad lovers rock records to be honest.....can understand why some people like the breaks, but even they feel at odds to the melody to me...whatever rocks ya though...

no, they are licensed from different people who each have some sort of claim to the masters. Both reissues originate from the US.

all part of its charm - shitty vocals by some kid , druggy production, neat drums. dont think its all about the drums

its an interesting package and i can see see why it wouldnt appeal to some people on here. not really a soul record in the traditional sense but for every person who doesnt get it theres enough who do still making this tune a bit of a grail even after Mark's find.
