A bit of a quiet night in numbers through the doors but definitely not quiet in the quality of the records played from the guest dj’s. Dave Eyley was the main guest dj and what a collection of rare soul he has too. Relatively unknown in the North East, especially in the Durham / Darlington area but I guess that won’t be for long as promoters fall over themselves to book him for their local venues. Nev Griffiths and Ian Shoulder accompanied Dave through the night and the sets went a bit like this (Nev Griffiths to forward his second set as the drink got him and he couldn’t write on the postage stamp sized note book!). It was good to see you and next time if you come and want to hear certain records (Jimmie Bo Horne “Speak”), let me know and I’ll make sure the dj’s bring one along. Next soul night is back to the first Saturday of the month - May - 3rd, remember folks — no soul night in April. Gibby will be the main guest dj and local dj's to be announced. Regards Paul..........
