I don't think there's an upper limit in the sense of a formal cap (in terms of file size, not the length of the actual mix) - in fact, I seem to recall that was one of the selling points when they last upgraded the whole system. (Though now that you mention it, I don't think I've seen a 3-hour mix before; there are plenty of 2 1/2 hour ones knocking around some of the specialist dance categories though).

However, the upload system is kind of flaky - it only takes the slightest interruption (a millsecond's drop in your WiFi connection, or Flash or Shockwave content streaming in another tab - including Mixcloud itself!), to mess up the entire process and make you have to start again and again and again, and the bigger the mix is, the longer it takes, and so the more chance there is of it messing up before you're finished.  I've found that if you're regularly having trouble, if you can get access to another computer, try uploading the file on one computer, waiting for it to get to 100% (it might take a few goes), and then without hitting "publish", log in to your Mixcloud account on the other computer to complete the upload from there, then just close the window on the first one.

If that doesn't work, it looks like Mixcloud and your Internet connection just can't physically handle a file of that size, despite there being no formal limit as such.

Not sure if thats true MJ, about the slightest interruption affecting the upload - I must have posted up 250 mixes now and anytime it's failed has been my fault by accidentally leaving the page, no other reason, I can get a 2 hour mix up there in under 15 minutes so maybe it's to do with what you do it on and your ISP?
