Well it was another great night at banbury, a lot of dancing right from the start, great DJ spot by the locals, and as you would expect a fantastic spot from Phil Richards.
Friendly atmosphere as usual, everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves, even the singles group that turned up, looking forward to Warwick, Oxford, Nuneaton, & soul fusion,
will post play list up later
All the best

Phil played a blinding set and as you say Steve all the DJ's played great sets as usual. Great to see Neil Self back on his old stomping ground once again, and good to meet Ted Massey, and Ian Sims looked like he was enjoying the nite. Thanks to Del for the Rochester Set CD. All in all a really enjoyable nite with top people

Only been up a few hours and still getting my head together !!!!!
Great music and even Maz and Steve were dancing.(Usually it's only Paul and I that dance)
Went to the bar to get the drinks and Maz only wanted a coke.
Ordered it, and I turned to Maz and said,
"I'm down to 81/2 stone and the Barmaid wants to know if I want a DIET coke??"
I don't know who was laughing more, Me or Maz.
Hahahahahahahaha
A lot of newcomers in last night and good to see them dancing.
The ones I spoke to were really enjoying themselves.
STILL didn't get Brilles a drink !! Every time I went to get him one, he had a full pint in his hand. I'll get you one NEXT time.
Great to meet Catriona and will be dancing to her set at the Northampton Week-Ender,
19 days to go and counting,,,,,,Yes !!!!!
See you all at the Oxford Northern Night on Saturday, 17th. of May with Special Guest DJ. NEIL SELF
(good to see him and his wife there last night.)
Thanks again for another great night,

Excellent night at North Newington C.C. with the Banbury Soul Club Crew.
This venue is definitely on the up & up.
Very reminiscent of Esher’s ’86 Club. If you went there why not come down to Banbury you’ll be pleasantly surprised, & you don’t even need a SATNAV to find the club!!!
Nice to see some of the old Black Horse soulies there. Must try to make the trip to hear Ted Massey next time around.
Lots of Motown played, keeping the floor heaving for most of the night, with some good old “Torch” records thrown in as a plus. I think I even saw someone trying to do the Torchites’ skip style Dance once or twice.
Absolute brilliant set from Dave, who tried desperately hard to fit in my record. Which unfortunately bombed. Sorry Dave. It will have its day yet!!!!
The “Across the Board” style doesn’t always suit everyone, However I think Eddie & the boys have definitely got it right!!!
Eddie don’t forget about the poster idea – you never know it could be lucrative to the club.
Thanks for the tip Tabs – I shall keep you updated with my progress!!!!!

Yes, sorry about the spilt beer Yogi but somebody handed me a bag of records to look through and when that happens I don't see anything else!! But I have done a lot worse with spilling drink, a couple of years ago at the St. Ives alnighter I spilit two full pints of draught guiness down the front of these poor girls t.shirt. Much to the joy of the lads I was with. Not my fault, it was served to me in those stupid plastic glasses, good job she had a sense of humour. So as you see you got off lightly really.

Correct about the Tangeers Neil but Tom didn't play it.
Kylee was asking about an Okeh track Tom played, which was Larry Williams, I'd rather fight than switch.

All you guys do your own thing which I like and the Banbury soul crew seem to dance to just about anything. I was out on the floor myself to the casualeers played by Dave B, I know it's one of the old school tracks but what a dancer and as Dave pointed out what great lyrics. Also impressed with the Gloria Gaynor track that Charlie spun. Very nice and a bit of a collectors piece these days, I only have the LP.

Wow, what a fantastic night! I was driving & i only got a little bit lost on the 40 minute journey which is always a good start!
Got there about 8 & the place was filling up nicely. Top sets by all of the DJs, danced all night!
Great to see lotsa friendly faces, the atmosphere was great. Just the music we love & great company!
This was the first time i had made it to Banbury for one reason or another- i won't be missing one again!
P.S, just posted some pics up of the night!
See you at the next one!
GLAD YOU ALL ENJOYED THE NIGHT, LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING YOUR SET AT WARWICK, KEEP DANCING , CHARLIE MC.
