Not seen any reports yet on Soul Source about the soul night at East Dene WMC in Barnsley so will rectify that now.
It is always an interesting night run by Steve and Janice Grimshaw with a wide spectrum of music played to an appreciative few! Its not the usual run of the mill Soul and Motown but a chance to hear some underplayed tunes most of them very danceable played by top guest DJs. The floor is typical working men's club and needs at least a bit of talc to get some movement on it but its a large area. There's ample seating and reasonable bar prices and plenty of car parking. Last night's guest DJs were the Brandy Sisters who played a great set including many requests and Derek Greenhoff who kept the floor busy. If you are wondering where to go on the first Saturday of the month try the East Dene just outside the town centre on Doncaster Road, I don't think you will be disappointed. Start time about 8.00pm entry £3.00
