Well another great night of black soul music....... early doors had a bit of fun till Big Jon came on and played a great RnB spot with some great Latin thrown in..... Max Rees followed and as always you’re never sure at what direction Max is going to hit you from , he played a great 60’s set with a few 70’s thrown in for good measure...... then Dave Halsall took control of the decks and played a blinder for 90 mins some rare hard to find chooons ..... some great RnB tracks and a few chooons new to my ears ....was not sure how I was going to follow Dave but he did not hit the 80’s and late 70’s in his set so I had an in ! 40mins of pure late 70’s to the 90’s then a mix of northern and RnB for the last 20mins then the lights came up and every one chilled to Gloria and this love affair.... thanks to the door ladies as always and to the 90 odd black music fans that turned up to enjoy..... Was nice to see some new faces and the regulars that could not make this one..... You missed a blinder! Was great to see some old faces like Mr Evans , Mr Beaton and Melony ........See you all on the 28TH June to do it all again......
All the best
David

Totally enjoyed my first visit , for some reason or another I never did managed to get over for the previous nine 9(volume 10 on the cd )and for some of the regulars last night it was not one of the better ones. If that was the case I must a have missed some blinders .
It was one of those last minute things . Couldn't face a Saturday night if front of the telly so gave Sully and Tony Nesbit a ring to see if they fancy going over with us, we all had a good night ..
A good little venue and a cheap bar .
Nice music which made A nice change from the usual , good crowd started low but picked up and ending with dance floor packed . It was good to see the locals and some of the hospital patients joining in.
Nice to meet up again with the Cambridge crew , Kev & Gwen , Phil Rains and many others , nice to meet Big Jon and Annie & crew from Wisbech who sent shivers down me when showing me a flyer for the Hunstanton weekender . Need my thermals for that one .
I Haven't changed my mind about that record Dave , I will be at Letchworth, Middleton , Burnley and Cleethorpes in the coming weeks .
Red you need a pay rise. Seen you flying all over the place for the Cambridge collective .
Andy
