On a sad note we have to announce that Richie Pitts has had to pull out due to illness, which requires surgery, which means that he won't be fully recovered for the event. He sends his deepest regrets that he can't make it , but if he feels up to it he will be there as a good wlll gesture in person, but not to sing.

Also we have been informed by the RITZ MANAGEMENT that this is to be the last ever NORTHERN SOUL EVENT to be held there before they close the doors a few days later for a refurb. So this will be the very last chance to visit THE RITZ as we knew it before it changes.

Was at The Ritz on Friday, checking things out and it was a most surreal moment as a small group of us decided to test out the dance floor. And boy, just like in the 70's that sprung floor moved. The look on everyone elses faces said it all Absolutely awesome venue and what a shame it's going to disappear after this weekend. Luckily a photographer will be there to capture the memories.

well I can't comment on the weekender but I can on Sunday's Ritz all dayer. Just got back home and I have to say a huge thanks to the peeps who put this one on. Not a bad tune spun all day, a great dancefloor once you got the syrup from the carpets off your shoes and some really great people. Today I met Sheila and Paul from Rotherham. Thanks for taking time to chew the fat with us.

As always photo's to follow later this week. Needless to say we have witnessed the end of an era today with the Ritz closing it's doors on the current venue.

what a weekend my hat goes off to everyone involved in organising it. and the woman with the white top and jeans curly blonde hair who was in copper jacks on sat can i have your number ????. lmao

Missed the Friday session but made up for it Saturday. Great sets played down stairs, and a good selection of underplayed sounds up stairs, and thanks for the cast of Eastenders, Corrie and Emmerdale for turning up in the bar for a drink and dance.

Finished work at 11.00pm on the Friday and thought why not. Last time i was a t the Ritz would be about five years ago and thought the place was looking pretty bad then. I was not disappointed , it was even worse. With the balcony in darkness the rest looked dilapidated. Good job there were some good tunes being played with plenty on the dancefloor. As i walked down the underground corridor to the gents , i could picture the same corridor in the seventies with bags and people lining both walls, the difference being this time , not a soul in sight. Overall though not a bad night, though its revamp has been well overdue by about twenty years.

Would just like to thank all the DJ's, door staff and especially everyone that attended over the three days and made it such a wonderful occasion. We gave The Ritz a great send off! Pics to follow.

1st of all a big THANKS to all the djs who played some great records over the weekend,and a big THANKS to the door staff,and not forgetting you the people who attended cause without you it wouldnt have happened,seeing it was our 1st event and it was on a large scale it went quite well.Over the weekend we did get some positive feedback which can only be built on at future events,once again THANKS a million Elli and Carole

I thoroughly enjoyed all the sessions over the weekend. They gave me the chance the play something a little bit different from my normal Wheel stuff. Great atmosphere at both venues. Hope you can repeat for next year and will see you both soon down in the Cellar !!!

Only did fri nite at the Ritz as wasn,t missing the last allniter there for no one, i had a fantastic nite to be back there just felt great remembering how it used to be, as was said the tunnel to the toilets was deserted it used to be crowded as was the balcony, but it didn,t spoil it for me, the company, the music & the memories just to be there one last time , i did get told off for sitting on the steps outside by the bouncers

Cheers for all these pos feedbacks, i agree the RITZ does need a revamp and is well overdue!! the reason we put it on there was the fact that it was closing and wont be the same when it re-opens and this was the last chance to bring back them memories!!.Thanks Mr John Green for youre positive comments and of course youll be seeing me in the WHEEL,thanks again until next time to all of you elli and carole.
