100 Club 19th January 2008 all-nighter - 3am closing time
News of a change to djs and hours for the 100 Club January event
Dear 6TS goer,
Unfortunately the manager of the 100 Club applied for our all-nighter extension a day too late and despite our excellent reputation and record over the years, the police licensing authorities refused to allow us any leeway. We therefore have to finish the night at the club's latest licensed closing time of 3 am. We will be starting proceedings at 9pm.
This will not affect future 100 Club all nighter dates that will all go ahead as planned; the management have assured me that they will be applying well in time and I'll be checking each time now.
However I know this will cause problems for quite a few of you who have pre-booked trains, planes, baby-sitters etc. and for this the club management and I apologise profusely. We were going to pull the gig completely but realised we can still have a great late soul night, though it won't be the usual all nighter feel; more of a cross between that and the Xmas party. It will also mean that people who are coming to London anyway can have a good night out.
Because of all this we are reducing the price of admission from £12 to £8 and have adapted the DJ line up as Butch, Mick H and Russ are better suited to all nighters and we have moved their appearances to the next nighter on March 8th which will be at the new permanent nighter time of 10pm-6am. Mick and I will still be serenading you with our soul numbers, (I've just acquired a great new unissued Brooks O'Dell Columbia track, perfect for the 100 Club) as usual, and we've added 40th birthday boy, long time 100 Club stalwart, Dome maestro and top London 60s club DJ Alan Handscombe to the roster. We'll be adding another top DJ too; I'll E-mail further details and check out www.6ts.info for updates.
Many apologies once more, but in true 6TS style "the soul must go on".
I really appreciate your continued support over so many great years and hopefully will see y'all down those hallowed steps on the 19th.
