It would appear that His Royal Soulfulness of Samshire is also spinning in the Modern Soul room, as well as the Northern room!! Can't wait already. Double boss! :-)))

Me and the missus will be attending :) This will be our second time at a Soul Fusion event.

Last time I was quite surprised at the regional difference in the music that was played. We're originally from Nottingham and although I thought I'd got a great collection of Northern soul records (c.400 singles) the people present were going mad for tunes that I'd not herad. Just goes to show how big and how diverse the Northern Soul scene is.

Sorry to rain on anyone's parade, but i came away from the soul night dissapointed. I'm happy to admit to being off of the scene for a good few years but I'm sure that i wasn't the only one to feel this way.

The main attraction (Soul Sam) jumped about with his choice of records all over the place. This dance floor was never truly full and as soon as he got a reasonable people up he killed it and everyone sat down. Part way through his set a number of couples de-camped to the skittle alley and persuaded the DJ to play some oldies that we could all dance to.
