This event is now over. Look up now to read the latest reviews of this soul event

Both Alan and Andy have played at Boomerang twice, so it's not exactly off-topic to mention that they're "PLAYING" a round here too:

We know that many of you will gladly support these Gentlemen 4 and their entourage in this very worthy cause - hopefully there will bring a bucket to shake on the night for those who prefer to give offline.

Unfortunately my good friend Martin won't be joining me for this Boomerang, he has things to do at home in WGC. However I will be accompanied by a "friend". This will be her first soul night so please be gentle with her. I agree with Karen, it does seem ages since the last Boomerang, I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms and am looking forward to hearing some good soul music in my favourite club; and of course to seeing all my friends up there. Assuming trains work to time we'll be in the Canal Tavern for the usual meet up and meal before the festivities start.

Hi Geoff, don't tell me that Martin has finally escaped from the male body that he felt trapped in for so long. Had his meat and two veg chopped off, donned a blonde wig and re- emerged as the voluptuous Martine.

(Could this be the real reason we haven't seen him out for a while? :g: )

Well the Boomerang is back again :) Does seem an age since last one.

Feels like ages for me too. But if you miss this one, the next one is 4 months away!

Our website also has lots of information for anyone coming along for the first time.

Great to see everyone's posts above and how much our guest DJ's Ady, Steve and Arthur are looking forward to playing for you all. As you know, all have spun at Boomerang before, but just thinking of what vinyl slices may come off those shelves this time to make us swoon or dance on Saturday night, has the soulful side tingling. Bit cheesy I know, but I am excited!

I wasn't offended in the least - in fact I loved it. Martin paid a compliment to the guests we ask to play at Boomerang and few could manage the depths of a soul collection which should get an airing Saturday night. I'd liken it to pretending you've been shown an Alladins cave of vinyl and asked to select by quality on what needs a play. I'm up for some dancing if I get enough Guinness in me too

Don't think I could bare to be anyone's favourite dj anyway (even if I could manage it) ...it's way too much pressure for me LOL.

I did say one of my favourites, not going to say who my favourite is, in fact pretty hard to pick a favourite.

House guests off home, all washing on and I'm ready to veg out on the lounge soon....

Just wanted to say a big thank you to all who made it last night. Lots of smiles and better numbers than we expected considering all the options available. Nice to meet a few new faces too. Ady, Steve and Arthur put together great sets with lots of feedback in agreement, we hope to see some playlists soon.

Took a few pics which will be up on our 'Friends of Boomerang' Facebook group later.

m

p.s. thanks for all your good humour after life's most embarassing moment. Maybe I just did it on purpose after the comments above LOL

(next Boomerang is SATURDAY 11 AUGUST 2012 * 9 hour summer special * 4pm-1am, £7 on door

guest DJ's: * SOUL SAM * CLIFF STEELE * ARTHUR FENN * + resident )

Boomerang was really good last night (as usual). Great music from all the DJs, thanks for playing my requests Arthur and Steve, and great to see all my friends up there. For me, on a personal note, it was the best one I've been to, my friends will know what I mean. Thanks for being so nice to my "friend", she really liked her first soul night, she even got up and danced. Before the start of the night we had a very tasty meal in the Canal Tavern restaurant, I'd recommend the fajitas to anyone.

And we got back to King's Cross before things went wrong on the trains, due to a problem at Hitchin. Long may Boomerang continue.

Hi Dylan, good to meet you last night.

PS: following our discussion I checked my shelves and I've got 4 x different Kim Tollivers on Rojac. But I can't remember which one we were discussing?....ATB Steve
