How good was Lowton last month! .......300 folk putting in the effort to make the first meeting of the North West Soul Club at the Rose Centre (Lowton Civic Hall under its new name) such a great success. As people have said, the 'Vibe' is back.

Great atmosphere in the main room, oldies, classics, and current spins from Messers Searling, Taylor, Murphy and Whittle. Plenty of dealers in the record bar with bargains to be had, and if that wasn't enough you could pop into the modern room with some old faces (well not THAT old) really enjoying the tuneage (Bob Hinsley well on form), with a great selection of dance tunes from the 70's right up to some of today's upfront modern room winners, defefnitely a recomended night........but don't take my word for it........come and see for yourself or click below to see some of last months comments

Looking forward to popping in on Friday , really enjoyed the vibe last month , lovely to see Terry & Lynn Davis after such a long time giving it large on the dancefloor.

I do like the dancefloor at Lowton its a dream to dance on. i didn't sample the modern room last month , I might just check it out this month. Cant stay too late though as we have an early start to the South West in the morning , so maybe we should skip the warhorse browny and get there early.

Beauty is in the eye of the purchaser!! (Tangeers, F Chavez, Patti & Emblems, R Lumley, Earl jackson, Sam dees etc have all left the box in the last few weeks) but hopefully they'll be something of interest.

Will be good to see you again - twice in a month!

Cheers

Great turnout for Lowton last night over 300 in, more than the re-opening night in December, so thanks to all who made the effort, hope you enjoyed it!

The next one on Friday Feb 10th is gonna be even bigger cause it's the Anniversary special, more details in the what's on section.

 Didn't even realise this thread was here!

Must pay more attention (a bit like school)

The December one was a belter, but this one was even beltier. The huge car park was FULL by the time we got there (which wasn't too late, even with Derek riding shotgun  )

Nice to see the numbers in the modern room pick up, I've got a great feeling about this room & can't wait to see it grow. Richard's spot in there was simply perfection & he get's my man of the match (no offence Baz or Bob as you were great team players too)

Main Room & record bar were busy all night. 350-400, not bad going guys. I feel the days where we were parking sinking on the football pitch, and parking on the roads outside the centre are not too far away :wicked:

See you all in February

Can't flipping wait

absolutely amazing was the response despite some confusion over the ad, which, if you check for february, has been rectified...its under LOWTON CIVIC HALL. yes, brilliant and even from where i was standing, some mind boggling tunes were entering my mental notebook, courtesy of richard, barry and bob......GEEZ GUYS,.....HOW BIG ARE YOUR GARAGES/LOFTS?!!...WELL, it dosn't take long for the midlands posse to get wind of a modern room that smacks of tsop, so by now the reccy party will have reported back to their tribe and all hell will let loose in february, appen'!!

....even the record dealers are sniffin' a good pitch and they were in and out of each others boxes before the punters got a look-in!.

as baz has said, LOWTON really does have the vibe about it and whilst it were brass monkeys outside the dancefloor were red hot wi people gettin a sweat on...oh, and folks, can i just say that its worth a stayover if you dont fancy the hike back home with some very nice,CHEAP rooms 5 imns away on the east lancs.....JUST THINK......MORE WONGA FOR THOSE SHINEY LITTLE BLACK VINYL THINGY'S!!.

roll on feb then and the twisted wheel's PETE ROBERTS entertains us.....another great night guarenteed!!
