Well what can we say about this event, basically wasnt impressed! To those true soulies give it a wide berth wish we had, a load of people dancing around their bags felt like they were truly taking the mick!!! Some tunes where stomping but the handbaggers ruined it. Would not go again!

Certainly a big sucess from the 'dressed to impress' numbers - this blend of 'big city soul night out' again striking a chord with many, including a refreshingly younger crowd, clearly enjoying themselves in one , or more of the three rooms . Started with a recommended Indian in West St just around the corner before arriving early doors at this fantastic venue., Nice to catch up John & Julie Hearney from Derby, then the York crew in the modern room , Mally from Saltaire and Brett Franklin . Whilst in the northern room, Melv Walker was in fine form and good to meet Steve Foster for the 1st time with the Route 61 guys and gals dancing the night away.

Caught some great soulful house from Tony B and modern sets from Sean Hampsey and John Kane whilst the club sounds from Kev , Snowy , Steve White worked well with the big ballroom crowd responding to the dance floor favourite tunes they knew and loved , though personally would have liked to see Richard Searling doing a later spot .Only regret was having to leave before the end for todays early start for soul and lambrettas on the IOW . ,

Sure, not 'hard core' but very enjoyable for the vast majority all the same and Sheffield has a very well supported 'soul' night which must be a good thing.

Went in to hear Steve and Mels sets in the northern room but preferred the dance floor in the main room. Still wished the main room was for northern only. Dave
