Less than 8 months to go until the Hotel Continental sees what is possibly the finest collection of soul music in the world, both presented by, and enjoyed by some of the finest people in the world (+ me). Not forgetting La Finca on Sunday with our hosts Jan and Dave (no, they didn't make the record "Surf City"!)

Lots of people have heard about it and want to see for themselves - come on guys, get your holidays booked and flights organised!!

Have had a cancellation due to the date reschedule, so Bev now has a room at the hotel for anyone not yet booked in. Only ONE room available, rest sold out, although there is accommodation close by still.

Gonna drop a few 45s in the thread that I may dig out this year for the new look Sunday Soul Brunch, that will now take place on the terrace overlooking the beach and the Med at The Hotel Continental. If any other 'Hitsvillers' wanna drop stuff off here ... feel free Guys:

Regards,

Dave

I'm gonna remove the earlier music posts now so that we can add a few more without clogging up the thread. I'll leaver the titles in the posts for reference.

Regards,

Dave

Tommy Hunt - Words Can Never Tell It - Dynamo

Great downtempo sultry performance from Ms Ross on this lightly produced ditty from Messrs Record and Davis. Sun, Sand, Sangria and midtempo magic - Can't beat it!

Dave

Gamble and Huff just prior to their move to North 12th St with Joe Tarsia on the board at Sigma Sound I think. I'm not 100% where this was recorded but it reached #82 on the Hot 100 and was part of the catalogue that encouraged CBS to back Philly international. Great mid tempo track from one of Philly's great vocal groups.

Regards,

Dave

Intruders - A Love That's Real - Gamble

I missed this when Denny apparently played it to me at his house in Perth last November. I've now rectified that situation and finally got one. Everyone needs one of these. A tenner? Sounds like a million #$$$s to these ole lugs...

Dave

Anyone think there's room for this type of thing at The Weekender? Probably only a Radio Show play I reckon. We got any 'popcorn' fans though?
