Once they get the lift in that`ll be a godsend bob for carting all the equipment upstairs, its nice to see that our efforts by the way of donating all our takings to the restoration of this fantastic venue, not only for us but for the community of easington is coming to fruition.

Big thanks to all who attended on Saturday, once again a great night, some fantastic tunes played by all our guests. Had a fine night myself apart from the crippling toothache. Me i`m off to the dentists before i do something drastic with a pair of pliers. As for the Welfare onwards and upwards our next date is SATURDAY 12TH MAY with guests DAVE & SARAH EVISON & PAUL DICKINSON [YORK]

Once again thanks for your support, another donation supplied to the Easington welfare restoration fund, to keep this important part of the community open.

A fantastic night at Easington once again was well worth the Trip from Barnsley.

It was a pleasure to meet Sean Tasker and listen to his music (notes below) numbers were good at the event

but (geordies rant) i was still disheartened that other venues are still clashing nearby that were fully aware of the dates of the Welfare long before they'd set their events up.....come on you lot up int frozen north get your acts together and stop diluting the crowds who would probably love to come to all but cant..doesnt make any sense other than oneupmanship which only serves to bugger up everyones nights and you all loose out.

Back to Easington.....Im swearing...the little room FOOOOOK ME...Sean tasker played a rare set that if it was a steak would have been running Blue....but not rare boring....oh no......rare top drawer..... I was blown away, and on top of that he Brought the ujima id just sold him and he give that a little spin( ahh those memories), but the main thing about Seans set was... it was music from the heart not for the price (dont get me wrong id have to remortgage for some of the little beauties) but the set flowed wonderfully it was without a doubt the best set ive heard in over 2 to 3 years anywhere.

I didnt get to hear Seans set upstairs later as i was triple decking in the little room but feed back for him is treeemendous.

Nice to meet Sean and look forward to catching up again when your not somewhere over the Atlantic ocean LOL

The Little room is carving a nice niche mainly 70's to modern but brilliant music all night, I have to hand it to Bob he pulls out tunes that just fit absolutly bang on in there...he has an impeccable taste in music I was singing me little arse off (steady no jokes)

The Big Room whilst being a mainly oldies room, the crowd are knowledgeble and you can hear some major 60 rarities being aired with good dance floor reaction its a pleasure to go to an oldies night and its not the same old ..same old...its oldies and Northern but not played out tunes, with others slipped in that other venues arnt brave enough to play.

This venue is gowing and its down to hard work and dedication for what they are striving for,.. keeping the welfare at the heart of the local community.....May is too far away for me ...im counting the days

Thanks very much for the Feedback matey, once again it was laughs all the way chatting, winding back the years with tales of our mutual friends in our mis-spent youth [wouldn`t change one thing, great days] looks like were finally beginning to get there again at the welfare. Great to see you again and look forward to seeing you in may-ALL THE BEST-H

Ian,

Thanks for the very kind words, real pleasure to meet you and hear some of your tales about soul life in South Yorkshire. Loved the one about Bri Pinches and his reaction to the guy who rang to apologise about the Sun Records article!!

Put my playlist up in Events: Playlists

Hopefully see you soon

Sean
