A varied mix and assortment of DJs bringing there own little thang to Bidds.

Danny Price and Will West make their debut.

Hope they can handle those pesky swingin' decks!

Ted Massey and Tony Foster will be adding

a touch more top quality Northern to the mix.

Residents Roger Banks, Des Parker, Beggsy and Ted Couldstone will

throw in those oddball infectious tunes that have become

Bidds own Oldies over the last 6 years.

Adam Topping and myself are there cus we're both cheap.......Adam moreso

6 years of lunacy in the seediest venue since Sheridans.

I deserve a big fcukoff medal....

However, a big piece of cream cake will suffice.

Tony Foster, best get your lady baking a birthday masterpiece.

Especially as cakes, savoury nibbles and free sweets seem to be

the backbone of successful soul events nowadays......

Note: this is now a stripped down post-event display

Bollux & there was me thinking it was about the music, so instead of an anniversary badge or fridge magnet will you be giving away a packed lunch to the first 100 thru the door Mace?

Can't wait for this.

Ashamed to say it will be only my first visit to Bidds!! But with the music policy and line up like this, it will no doubt be a belter.

Think Rich has said already but a good crowd of us coming over from Leeds.

Paying you £100 to let me DJ for 10 minutes isn't what I'd call cheap ;). Maybe you too could have a succesful soul event, if just this one time you could refrain from eating all the cakes, savoury nibbles and free sweets whilst setting up :D

On a more serious note, Ted has promised to play his new cover-up on saturday, an uptempo Northern version of a classic nursery rhyme called 'Hickory Dickory Dock (the man with the tiny cock)'.

Covered up as "Lou & the Singing Swinging Counts", it's guaranteed to stir some reaction.

Apparently it was bought blind off ebay with Ted bidding against 2 other shrewd minded collectors, for an undisclosed sum that has recently been referred to as The Three Blind Price.

Think he's taking the mickey to be honest, cus it sounded somewhat cheesy when I first heard it, but Ted told me he couldn't give a rats arse what I thought.

If you do happen to have a large, uncomfortable bulge in your trousers, it may well be an over full wallet. As it happens i am bringing 2 boxes of ludicrously cheap records for sale, and am more than happy to help relieve you of some of this cash - You know it makes sense

If you've not been before, this charming venue set in the stoke on trent countryside/ urban wasteland is certainly one of a kind, it just reaks of the underground! Quality line up who will offer, for me, some of the most upfront and cutting edge selections of sounds around.

Bidds- its not a way of life,

its a wayward life!

I had a fantastic night :D

Bidds is still the best nighter around, with it's unique blend of soul/RnB/funk/latin dancers played by a bunch of enthusiastic nutjobs known as the resident DJs to an appreciative and equally enthusiastic bunch of nutjobs known as the paying punters. All of which takes place in a palatial venue offering every mod con you could wish for :)

Top stuff played by the resident and guest DJs with Johnny Beggs yet again getting my man of the match award, though my tune of the night was Ted's incredible Foreign Blue Renaissance. Thanks in particular to Dave Abbott for the lift and general good company, Rich Evans for being on the same mental wavelength as me and to Mace for putting it all on and for letting me have another go behind those swinging, swaying, eye blurring decks!

Adam.

Well it was a long day and nite for me with fun filled celebration's on St Pats day from 1Oam Breakfast on Saturday till 10am Sunday Bed time.Only with the aid of my loved one Carrie and me pal John McClure, relieving me of any driving duties to cover the three hundred & thirty mile round trip and to let me get on with Guinness consumption to help drown me shamrock, and have a bloody gud day,and nites dancing at Bidds so thank you John & Carrie for that.

On a personal note a big thank you to Mace and the team for yet again another top nite at Bidds and of course the usual like minded reprobates in attendance that make the nite so much fun. How the hell you sorted them Dj times out is beyond me.

You managed to give it flow and consistency of dance music across the board all night so congrats on achieving that one.

It was a blend of the Rare Uptempo, R & B, Latin & not forgetting soul edged funk or should it be funky edged soul!!!.All thrown in for good measure to give the perfect Bidds recipe for a fantastic floor filled nite out even with the odd buffet on disply for all to dip into if need be on a special occasion by a grateful Birthday DJ or regular or punter.

If only the travelling soul fraternity could see what's on offer here. Because it aint fookin DFS with the same ongoing offer all year round, year after year.

This offer only comes with just one request {Give it a go,to give it a chance of continuing as a market leader for great soul dance music backed by the best forward thinking DJs around} So use it before you lose it, this offer don't last for ever.

Oops to many f words in one statement that can get ya in the shit.

Many thanks to everyone who turned out saturday to listen to an outstanding mix of tunes from the DJs, Linda and the doorstaff, and to all who helped to promote this event.

Also a special mention for Mrs Foster for putting on a buffet big enought to feed a small country!

Next nighter at Bidds is April 28th, but on this occassion will be a 100% Northern Allnighter with DJs Andy Dyson, Ted Massey, Rob Smith, Dave Welding, Dave Evison, Tony Foster and yours truly, spinning 8 hours of Northern Soul floor packers, from classic oldies to current indemanders.

Well Wednesday morning and thinking back about the last all-nighter at Bidds whilst eating a pile of sandwiches and huge portion of chocolate cake.

Will this buffet ever end

A big thank you to Mace for another cracking night and making me realise that money isn't everything

Seriously a great night, Mace deserves a big pat on the back and a medal the size of a dustbin lid for 6 years of all-nighters at Bidds, top man

Don't forget to get along to the next all-nighter at Bidds, April 28th ~ 10 till 6am ~ 100% Northern Soul with DJs Andy Dyson, Ted Massey, Rob Smith, Dave Welding, Dave Evison, Tony Foster and Mace, 8 hours of Northern Soul floor packers, from classic oldies to current indemanders.

With a line up like this you know it's gonna be good

My first allnighter of the year...enjoyed it both for the music and socially. A real shame about the low numbers but this horrid recession and three oop north allnighters on the same day will have that effect.

Thanks to Dave Greenhill for coming up with me and to Ted spinning Eddie Parker and The Parliaments.
