New thread!

Additions to the event already made and possibly more to come as the last few who were invited to play make room in their diary or finally pick up their messages :P !

Tickets will go on sale tomorrow and I'll list a series of decent hotels too.

Flyers next week and then we're underway and counting down to a special weekend indeed.

Hi mate hotels would be:

Holiday inn express - oxford road - 2 mins away from all the action

Any of the city Centre Ibis hotels are good and all very central to the action

Hatters is a hostel in the n.Qtr of manchester which is really nice, private rooms, roll top baths - a lot of people stayed there last year - all the Germans and Austrians pretty much booked it out.

other hotels - big higher end:

The Palace hotel - Oxford road manchester (where the ballroom event took place last year)

The Midland Hotel

that's where i'd start my search :)

hope that helps.

Really looking forward to what is sure to be a fantastic weekend. Having a couple of young kids mean I don't get the chance to travel to the european events and the chance to listen to so many top DJs from the continent is a real treat :)

Ok were starting to get going here!!

A lot of people have asked about a Day Ticket (see above post) well we've decided that rather than have a ticket for this and a ticket for that EVERYTHING WILL NOW BE £20.00 - THE ENTIRE WEEKEND.

Those who have bought tickets already - when you bring your print out or proof of name as I've got you all on a list already will be refunded £10.00 and those who bought a Day Session ticket can have a full weekend pass and then you've got the opportunity and choice to take it all in if you can or so wish :) - EASY!

That should make life easier for everyone and you still get a FREE STREET FESTIVAL TICKET worth the same as the weekender pass - but if you want to attend the soul event you must get the SOUL ticket not the festival ticket.

hope thats better for everyone,

Hey all, a fair few tickets went yesterday - so thanks to whoever bought them - they went in two chunks which assume is two 'soul crews' who've sorted themselves out :)

Any questions do ask

Tickets £20 for entire weekend - http://www.brownpape...om/event/221018

The Facebook page is a good one for updates on hotels and apartments too and generally good chatter check that out here: http://www.facebook.com/events/255840861152192/

Two final additions to the event have been announced

LifeLine's own Mick H - closed the main event in the Grand Ballroom last year with a stomping set - it was truly amazing - total gent too!

Local legend Les Hare will be back after his first encounter with the event two years ago.

Although there has been a recent posting regarding the closure of the Greatstone we shouldn't forget that they will be back to host a Special day session at the weekend too to kick things off with our European guests.

Sat - Greatstone and Euro weekender welcomes you to Manchester

Sat Night - First European Soul Weekender ALLNIGHTER PARTY (Now including Mick H)

Sunday - The Big Day - 12 hours of the best Rare and Underplayed soul

Monday - The goodbye party!!

All for £20.00 - get your tickets soon though - they're going in little batches!

any questions about hotels etc drop us a message.

Hatters is lovely - loads of folk stayed there last year.

Yeah its getting book dup quickly but there is loads of little independents which I'll post up soon once I've spoken to all the owners.

Greatstone are indeed involved with the weekender - nice local event which you couldn't ignore!

I'm sure they'll be back in some capacity in the future - so much good soul to still be played by them - nice lads too.

Hey Folks

For people looking for accommodation for the Manchester European Weekender.

There are some great short stay apartments in Manchester .. ...if you can share with 2 or 3 people, you can stay in the heart of the city for around £30-£50 per person per night. A much cheaper option than a Hotel and most of us wouldn't be up for breakfast anyway would we?

Here are some links :-D

Hi SÃĩamus,

The breakdown is as follows:

Sat-day (Centro) Northern Qtr - Manchester

Sat Night - The Attic (above the Thirsty Scholar) across the road from the festival site/Palace Hotel

Sunday Big Event - The Palace Hotel...or we've got a wild card option which has been thrown into the mix. Also centrally located and again, like last year, a space which is deserving of such an event - details to follow soon.

Monday - Space Bar like last time and depending if there is demand, a possible post 11pm continuation as Tues is also a Bank Holiday too.

1 £20 ticket gets you all that plus a two day street festival pass.

Cheers for the question :)

They'll be a little map on the back of the flyers but I'll get the graphic up on here too once it's done. I'll have all the locations marked with the above breakdown on it so you know what is happening and when, but aside from Saturday day (the opening event) everything is maybe ten feet away from one another Sat night through to Monday eve. So as long as you can remember where you're staying you'll be fine :)

Few more tickets gone - don't let them get away - if you're coming get them in early.

Booked a few rooms for some guests yesterday too - any question re accommodation or search here http://www.laterooms.com/en/p1301/pv080546a/k16296355_manchester-hotels.aspx#gnqiqv

Lots of other little ones too to try - Nags Head Pub is a good 'soul orientated' venue, the Ox and the White Lion on Liverpool Road, plenty of serviced apartments too which Leona has noted above and lots of Hostels e.g. Hatters is great.

cheaper accommodation is listed here if you don't want to spend £300 a night in the Hilton (That better be one comfortable bed!)

I hope so Joan, maybe if Henning...for some reason has to leave the decks for a sustained period of time, maybe he thinks he is 'needed' outside for something important, we could fill in for a while with his records to critical acclaim and glory...or even just to test them, make sure everything is ok. These things need to be done! ;)

got my ticket but can someone tell me where the venues are please ...

There are some links at the top of the page for those venues which have websites but geographically, Noho is in the Northern Qtr of Manchester, a district near Piccadilly train station. The actually address is Spear Street, Stevenson Square, Manchester, M1 1FB M1

The Attic is on Oxford road, behind Oxford road train station, opposite the Palace Hotel - ask for any of those P.O.I and you'll see it :)

Jabaz C is a 5 min walk down Oxford road from the Attic and the final venue Blk Dog Ballroom is 1 min walk from the Attic :)

we'll sort everything out on the day eveny on Sat :)

Hello, just wanted to make a shout, not a happy one but just to let you know.

I will sadly not be able to make this year, gutted about that as last year was about the best soul-nights I ever attended and had the pleasure to DJ. I was unbelievably invited this year again to DJ, by the two best lads in the soul-world at the moment Liam and Gary, thanx boys, I feel really bad not to be able make it...

Reason is that missus is carrying our second child, and she is having a terrible pregnancy, probably worst you can ever have, spent numerous nights awake with her all night, sitting at hospital etc and just when you thought the worst had passed, she just got pregnancy diabetes and we need to go back and fort to hospital doing sugar tests to see if it gets worse or better.

Life..... Were expecting 14th of june, but the state of carina my wife, and the possibility of a early delivery, I would never ever forgive myself for not beeing by her side. Never.

Got to give it up to Carina for beeing the one still saying "maybe you should go, I know how much the Soulnights means to you"

We just hope everything works out this time with the little one.

Actually was looking in to flying in early morning main night and home last flight direct to Gothenburg at 8 at night from mancs, could have worked, guess what: Skyways Airlines who is the only airline flying direct Mancs-Got went bankrupcy last week!! Unbelivable!

Anyways, again I´m sorry for not beeing able to make the best weekend, hugs to you all, you gonna have a blast!

Fellow DJs: CHEERS! Liam & Gary GOOD LUCK, I know it will be the BOMB if only half as good as last year.

And hope I have not burned all the chances to have a spot some othe year......

Sorry for blurbing out my private life like this, but just felt I wanted to explain myself. Cheers Punky

Noho is a smallish bar - nice easy chill out vibe - basically just a nice meeting point for everyone to catch up

The Attic - dark Allnighter venue - holds 250 with comfortable dancing space

Sunday - big day @ jabez Clegg is very large - 500 cap, maybe more

Monday - another 250/300 cap venue

Hope that helps :)
