Nice One Rob! .......Let's not forget we'll be celebrating 15 Years of this great venue on Feb 10th, and what's more looks like the buzz is back with over 300 in on each of the last two nights, might be the Anniversary could be a packer.

Gonna be diggin out and posting up some of the origianal flyers and pics from what has been one of my favourite venues, ever.........

spot on baz, yes of absolute & paramount importance is that...IT'S LOWTON'S 15TH ANNIVERSARY AS WELL, so quality tunes covering that decade and a half, many great discoveries, a great cross-section of musical styles and fantastic memories of all the dj's who've been involved in making this place the landmark venue that it is and a fantastic tribute to the hard work that kev murphy & yourself put into establishing it right at the heart of lancashire.

...so, lets see this place absolutely rockin or in the case of february, "leapin" with soulies who know whats best!

Hi Melv

The above wouldn't work as the room is back to it's original format as a modern room, still, come on down and have a boogie with me

Hope you're both well buddy

15years, had some great nights there in the early days, not been for a very long time, looks like there could be a return on the cards. Seem to remember coming to an alldayer with a bbq in the car park at the lowton, sure it was a sunday? is that right?

Hi Harry

Many 'old faces' have re-visted Lowton over the past couple of months and commented on the atmosphere being like the early days, which can't be bad cause as you say some great nights at the Civic.

You're right about that Sunday special with the BBQ might be worth another one of those later in the year........

Apologies Ian, I never knew that, all I've ever known for that backroom was Modern, DDA, then Room with a View. I also remember (& loved) that little R&B room at the end of the long corridor.

How long did the "original" back room run for, & who deejayed in there?

If you're going on Friday I'll bend your ear about it, if you'll

allow me, it's always good to know these things. The place has a lot of history & it must hold some great memories for you

All the best

Ali x

Ps I'm on my mobile & for some reason it won't let me reply directly to your post

It was a lot of crossover and mid-tempo sixties, seem to remember it as an extension of the sort of stuff that was being played at the saints club.

 Blimey don't tempt fate

I stayed in last weekend because of the pesky white stuff, and I hear there is more on the way, but fingers crossed the weather girls get it wrong this time, as I want to come out & play  (& don't want to be building snowmen or throwing snowballs at anyone :wicked: )

Here's hoping

yet another stunning night of quality tunes, great atmosphere and an absolutely huge thanks to everyone who attended, making for a fantastic anniversary celebration and the relaunch of lowton goes from strength to strength!!....extra special guest, PETE ROBERTS didnt hold back with his dedication to the TWISTED WHEEL and well done to him for putting on a great spot!. nice to see lots of faces travelling from fair distances and given the worries about the weather, it didnt put people off as the dancefloor proved...RAMMED and the modern room really IS going to be a massive attraction, thanks very much to the midlands posse in particular for proving the point...look forward to seeing you guys up here again in march!!. and.....people are also catching on to the idea of the "stayover" so when you've got a travelodge on the venues doorstep, why not?,...lots of soulies coming early doors as well, so its getting to the point already where it will soon be standing room only....which just leaves me to say, catch you all on march 9th when special guest will be NIGE BROWN....GONNA BE A PACKER!!

I love the Midlands posse, even with their occasional line dance  It was great to see them again, a really nice bunch of guys, and good to see the Manchester lads joining them (not in the line dance tho  )

The Modern Room was my favourite room, this time round, and if it carries on like this, you may need to start opening that special room a little earlier :D

The main room was very busy with lots of people enjoying themselves. Hello Pete from Oz  It was nice to meet you & I hope Mouse found his way back home without too much trouble.

Well done on another successful Lowton

See you all in March
