Debbie Taylor LIVE............discuss.

WOW.......WOW......WOW.

I closed my eyes and it was like listening to a record with headphones on.

Total respect to Debbie and a huge pat on the back to Dave Box & Mike Charlton ( of Smashy & Nicey fame) and their long suffering ladies for making this happen and the band who you would think had been playing Debbie Taylor songs all there lives.

The memory will not fade as time goes by and Debbie's vocals will hold that note for longer!

That'll be a night I won't forget in a hurry. Oh my goodness, can Maydie still sing or what? Each note was sung with depth, clarity, power, passion and emotion and resonated through us all. At one point she was holding a note and one of the backing singers clapped her in awe - just as we all did. The woman is amazing and it was an honour to have her sing for us.

Should you get the chance to ever hear her for yourselves, you really should - you won't be disappointed!

What an amazing performance and evening! My first trip to the Wilton (chauffeur to Brian & Cathy from sunny Northants  ) and one I'll never forget, thanks so much to all involved.

I'll leave all the good photos to those who had the decent cameras etc, but I did manage to take a couple which I think capture just how much effort Maydie put into her vocals and how genuinely blown away she was with the response from everyone. How good is that band and backing singers too?!!!

Cheers, Steve.

Not a live artist fan but if you are Maydie should top of your "must see" list, the Lady had it all.........and then sum.

The backing band were worth seeing on there own.

Highlight of the night for me was seeing The Wilton rammed, one of the best one room venues in the country without a doubt.

The icing on the cake was seeing so many old mates who I've not seen in ages, the banter was relentless & I've not laughed so much in one night in a long while.

Hearing Mel Williams-Sweet Girl Of Mine was worth entrance fee alone

Well done Mouse n Dave

Cheers

Troop;

On two occasions recently I have been totally blown away by this wonderful music, Richard Caiton singing "I wonder will you always love me" to a rammed lounge at Soul Essence, Prince Phillip Mitchell singing "There's another in my life" at Soul4Real in Bilbao but Debbie Taylor smashed them out of the park with "I dont wanna leave you", a truly masterful and emotional performance that will stay with me forever. The close runner up was "I have learned to live my life without you", sheer heaven.

Thankyou Dave, Val and Mouse for a truly wonderful evening and one I doubt will be matched for some time to come.

Absolutely one of the best nights ever...well done all..Debbie you are without doubt now up there alongside my number one live performances seen ever, and ive seen Bobby womack , sounds of blackness, David Sea, Garland Green the Dramatics, LJ Reynolds, Sam Dees, Tashan, Incognito, the list can go on and on and on.. but last night was awesome...awesome awesome..that girl can sing.... i didnt want it to end...

Massive support also to the backing band ..how tight were they...ouch and the two backing singers. maaaaan it was the complete package.

After darrow fletcher there were some negative comments about the rest of the night with djs playing b sides etc (i dont know why people said that but anyway.)..BUT Last night everything was perfect djs on top form i had my sober head on and was dancing frequently unknown for a sober geordie so it was bloody good....

It was the full package and if the tickets had been 3 times the price more.. i would still say now that id underpayed it was that good

So please please please when are you back Debbie

The place was rammed which only added to the great atmosphere

Debbie Taylor and the band were top notch and fantastic music all through the evening from the DJ's

Easily the best night we've had out this year - hope the guys are going to continue this format with another great guest next time - any chance of more than one a year please?

Tried again, and still failed, I have just listened to both her sets again, and once more have been reduced to tears. Links to the recordings are on my facebook page - and are well worth a listen. Thanks to Tabs for recording her on his phone and sharing x

I completely agree, ALL the deejays need to take a bow, they played their hearts out and kept the dancefloor happy with a great mix of music.

I personally welcomed the Northern/Rare Soul that was played last night, as it was that very music that got the Wilton where it is today, so it thoroughly deserved to be mixed in with the classy Modern that was being played.

A fantastic night that will take some beating

Regards

Incredible Chalky !!!!!

Still can't get my head round how good the band & the backing singers were, and that they had only rehearsed the once that same day, looks like they had been together years!!

First things first, thanks Dave and Mike for making this happen, think I can say was a good as it gets, Incredible singer, fantastic backing, fantastic knowledgeable crowd and of course the incredible material to bring it all together, was fortunate enough to meet Debbie at The Hotel, tried not to be star struck but I reckon I was cos I have loved her for years, the atmosphere in the pub and then the venue was crackling all night. Got a feeling she will be back after the reception that she got, the tickets will go in a couple of days thats for sure. Thanks Ali for my birthday drink to add to the perfect night x
