Masters Of Soul! 1st Anniversary with SOUL SAM on
This event is now over
Happy 1st Anniversary Masters Of Soul! Thursday 28th March @ 'Satan's Circus', Wenlock & Essex, Islington...... 7.30pm till 2AM! Can't believe it's been 1 year since we started our little Thursday night ..my how it's grown!
The February Masters Of Soul was another amazing night ... a fantastic turnout again...it was a bit like like a who's who of the Rare Soul scene. We really can't thank all you guys enough for all the support, especially those of you who drive for hours and go to work on 4 hours sleep ju
st to come along!
A massive thank you to our very special guest DJ on the night, the awesome ARTHUR FENN, playing in the Capital for for the first time in over a year, it was well worth the wait. Arthur played some awesome rarities and more that a couple of exclusives! Keeping both the dance floor and the 'chinners' happy! A truly lovely fella too ... so nice to have him and we hope he'll be back soon.
With our girl Naoko still away in the Land Of The Rising Sun, we had another 'surprise' addition to the line up. It just so happened Mr EDU DOMINGO (Movin On BCN) happened to be in London for the weekend so he returned to the decks at MOS. As expected, he played a blinder and the last 3 hours with him and Arthur in charge of the decks meant that the quality of the tunes was truly mesmerising. A big thanks for standing in.
So, to March 2013! It's only our 1st Anniversary!!! So we thought we'd bring you something EXTRA special. This month we're delighted to welcome the legendary SOUL SAM to MASTERS OF SOUL as our very special guest DJ. A man who really needs no introduction, a real 'Master Of Soul", just expect to be totally blown away. Such a popular DJ and person ...we can't wait to let him loose on the decks! We've even gone to the trouble of getting an extended licence as it's the start of the Easter weekend, so the night will be on till 2AM! And still FREE!
Our girl Naoko will be back behind the decks this month, joining your other residents Leona Murphy and Yann Vatiste bringing you the finest in rare soul, crossover, underplayed 60's & 70's, funk, disco and whatever else they can rummage out of those magic record boxes.
As usual, there will be lots of lovely, reasonably priced food on offer for you alongside some very nice brews and ales, so you can come straight from work and bring your dancing shoes in your bag ... No work the next day for many of you. What a way to start your Easter Holiday!
