Well ,well .. so far so good ... life has been very hectic of late and it's not set to ease off anytime soon ....

I won't spoil the party by putting my potential plays up ,but will just say ..

the playbox is primed and ready with the good people of  YORK SOUL CLUB and it's dance floor in mind !

Not for the faint hearted and please ,oh please ,pace yourselves cos it's gonna get hot and sweaty in that new venue on Saturday night :)

Well that was a bit good wasn't it,as good a York musically as I can remember for awhile.

Nev & Roger were top class both very different but both bringing so much to the decks.Thought Nev did a proper York spot, tune after tune of quality soul music lots of it unknown to me but you don't need to know something to know it good, sorry great (so would appreciate a playlist so I can find out which I'm not gonna be able to afford)Bansky was just Banksy, couple of records to suss the floor out & he was off with floor filler after floor filler it looked so easy for him.Someone commented that it was like an old Wilton spot & in parts it was but I think that's high praise enough.

Only slight downer was it could have done  with another twenty in but a few regulars missing so next time when they are back plus some of the newbie numbers should look a lot healthier.

Well done T n T

Thanks the positive feedback Martyn :)

Was good to be back with the York soul crowd ,shame a few were missing but all the same it was good to see and chat to everyone .

Thought I'd give it a bit of uptempo theme on the night ,but hadn't bargained for one of the decks to be pitched up by about +4 !

Took me a while before I realised and thought wtf that Sacred four sounds mental tonight lol

Record of the night that stuck in my memory was that Bobby Smith C/U that John Parker played ..it stopped me in my tracks and had the floor full ,which is unusual for such a new to many ears 45 .

Funny moment was Tony Hatfield calling on his experience as a dj ,after hearing my tale about the guy who came and asked if I had ghost in my house or any other Manchester sounds ?

Tony took to the decks and announced every record as " this is a big Manchester sound ,to which the guy duly danced to for the full hr lol

Will sort playlist up later tonight and put it in the correct forum .

Hope to see a good few again this coming Friday at Tadcaster for Andy Hudsons night :)
