Masters of Soul meets VA VA VOOM special! on
This event is now over
It's that time again folks! April 25th @ 'Satan's Circus', Wenlock & Essex, Islington...... 7.30pm till Midnight. It's time for your monthly fix of rare soul in the Capital!
Our 1st Anniversary Special was indeed exactly what it said on the tin....SPECIAL! What an amazing night ... a record turnout without a doubt.... a complete packer! We really want to say thank you to all our MOS regulars who've supported us for the last year and built this thing up into a really fantastic soul night.
We were truly delighted to have the one and only SOUL SAM as our very special guest on the night. Who better to top off a whole year of MASTERS OF SOUL than the main man himself??? True to his form as the original 'Master Of Soul' and showing us just why he's so in demand and is loved by so many, Sam played not one, but two 90 minute sets which were quite simply out of this world. We had moments of magic there in that packed sweaty room. There was an incredible atmosphere, it was a real night to remember. A big MASSIVE thank you to Sam from all of us, he has vowed to return ...he absolutely loved it!
So, to April 2013. Kicking off the second year of MASTERS OF SOUL we're delighted to have Mr ADY LUPTON as our very special guest, he'll be joining his team mate Yann and us girls for a night of sublime rare soul. A very popular DJ here and in Europe, ADY is of course one of the residents and founders of the legendary VA VA VOOM nights ...so we know just what kind of class tunes we can expect.
So it's a MASTERS OF SOUL meets VA VA VOOM special!
It was great to have our girl Naoko back from Japan last month and have the MOS family reunited. So join Naoko and your other residents Leona Murphy and Yann Vatiste this month, they'll be bringing you the finest in rare soul, crossover, underplayed 60's & 70's, funk, disco and whatever else they can rummage out of those magic record boxes.
As usual, there will be lots of lovely, reasonably priced food on offer for you alongside some very nice brews and ales, so you can come straight from work and bring your dancing shoes in your bagNote: this is now a stripped down post-event display
