Well done guys, an absolutely storming night.

Arrived early to a great first set which set the tone for the rest of the night.

First class mix of DJs and tunes, loved the range of R&B, early soul, Popcorn and more that was played, particularly that it covered much lesser-known material (but still superb - great to hear Dorsey Burnette's "Feminine Touch" played out, for example) along with the better-known tracks.

Well worth the trip - looking forward to the next one.

The Dearne Playhouse R&B Event, a sight to behold. I can't praise everyone enough for their attendance and contributions. I'm obviously bias towards giving a good report as it’s my event but I can't lie about how fantastic last night was.

A huge thanks to all the dj's Ciro, Glenn Merrifield, Doug Lewis, Joe Lakin and John Moffatt . A special thanks to Steve Mank and Sharon Rigby for providing the equipment and being there with me from 17.30-01.30.
Philomena & Alan Cawkwell for manning the door. My son Micheal for selling raffle tickets and Linda, Des, etc. for assisting with the raffle draw. Not forgetting my friends behind the scenes who help with ticket and poster production, raffle prizes and for being their when the pressure is on. You know who you are, xxx.

Joe Lakin's R&B CD comprising of R&B and beat music played at the Dearne Playhouse. Assisted by John Moffatt raised £50.

Does the Dearne Playhouse have a future ?. Yes it does whilst ever dedicated fans like you, show up on the night and support the music.

Thank you again. £300 raised on the night for good causes in Sri Lanka. All proceeds will go to the needy in Sri Lanka, Widows, orphans and the poor. Also to support young medical students training to be doctors.

Two raffle prizes yet to be claimed. Vodka 206-210 and Red Wine 106-110.

Next event 4th Jan 2014, put it in your social calendar and save me your unwanted Christmas gifts for the raffle, (No Cardigans).

God bless you all,
Mick TP Casey
