Double O Soul

Sunday Soul Session on

This event is now over

Serving up a large portion of Northern with a small slice of Mecca Soul on the side, first Sunday afternoon of every month.

Resident DJ: Steve C

3:00 pm till 7:00 pm, door tax free.

Lovely pub with reasonable beer prices, plenty of parking, outside seating for sunny afternoons, and handy for motor ways.

The music features Northern Soul including original and modern, Crossover and R&B. It also includes Mecca Soul (Motown, Stax, Invictus, Island etc..)

Two half hour Open Deck sessions available

At the event, we play vinyl only. As 7" records in quality can weigh a considerable amount, it isn't possible to have every record guests might ask for. Each DJ might drag as many as 200 singles backwards and forwards to each event. So why don't you give us a heads up of what you might like to hear by making a post below. We'll do what we can to ensure it's there at the soul session

So an afternoon of banter and chat listening to some great soulful sounds and quaffing a few lemonades. (Hand pulled beers are available ;-))

Tony and his wife, Edith, will give you a friendly welcome and it will be great to see you there.

Following on from the success of Andy Carling in the open deck session last month, I'm glad to announce that Steve SS is having a spin at the next event. You'll need to be there for 3:00 pm to hear him. Come along and give him your support (",)

I am the early doors slot (15:00) so thought I would just play some "me" tunes.......

Nothing too obscure or odd...nothing too overplayed.........just good 6Ts (bit of 70s for bad measure maybe)

so if you get there early enough you may catch the likes of The Ebonies, Parisians, Marion James, Ernest Sparks, Attractions, Visitors, Jones Girls, Satisfaction Unlimited.....

7 inch only...cant do with carrying them big dinner plates

miss it miss out....

(in the words of someone I would rather forget)....C and B there!
