*SCORCHER* 60s Reggae R&B Northern on
This event is now over
IS BACK !
Looking for something abit different for the weekend, maybe some Original 1960's Ska, Rocksteady, 69 Reggae, and classy Jamaican Soul, along with your usual Northern Soul and R&B. Well look no further, as all roads lead to Brum on the 23rd of November 2013, for the BOSS night of the year, with an international line-up and an international crowd, for the 14th annual ‘Scorcher’ event.
Whether you’re a face on the current original skinhead scene, a mod, suedehead, Northern Souler, or just a fan of the original 1960’s Ska, R&B, Rocksteady, Northern Soul, and 69 Reggae, you won’t wanna miss this night.
All music played on original 7” vinyl, from the mega rare to the classics, but all with the beat to make you move your musical feet. And for your further musical pleasure Scorcher has hired in the mighty ‘Sounds and Pressure’ sound system, so you can hear the reggae and soul as it should be heard.
There is live footage of the records we are actually playing screened up on the wall behind the DJ’s.
There is a free afternoon session with a free buffet, so all you who have travelled can meet and greet , have a chat, hear some sounds, and have a bit to eat. The Irish Centre also has good food available all day and evening. Drinks are also kept at the normal pub price, and the room has air conditioning. There are usually a few record stalls and vintage clothes stall present in the afternoon. If you want to sell something then just bring it along, there is plenty of room, and it’s free.
So don’t be an L7, get hip, and suited and Booted for ‘Another Scorcher’.
The nearest hotel ( a short walk away ) is The Paragon Hotel, 145 Alcester Street, Birmingham, B12 0PJ. Tel: 0121 627 0627.http://www.theparagonhotel.co.uk
