Being organised as usual, have just put the feelers out for this one and it looks like we will be visiting for the evenings entertainment. Sorry we missed your last one with Cliff 'n' Kitch, but one can't do em all.

Boomerang - One of the places that 'does it' for me

See ya there.

All the best,

Len

Soon comes back around :D

looking forward to some quality music and ale at the Canal Tavern.

He's been exiled in foreign climes of late but Andy McWhitmore makes a rare foray back this side of the border along with his lovely better half Susanne.  Dave Raistrick alongside him sure ensure a qulaity night.

See you at the bar.

Quiet a few sales tables reserved (via our Facebook group event), also Natalie will have her Cancer UK run sponsorship forms with her - so be prepared to be chased round the venue LOL

I'm getting that excited feeling in my tummy....

Due to the move across the border, it has been too long since we've heard ANDY WHITMORE play at this venue - a home to him from decades ago & as he's one of my all-time fav DJs (on a rather short list) - it's a big yippee from me to have him & Susanne back!  They can also fill you in on the TrueSoul weekender at Peebles in September.

Guesting also is 'boomerang deck virgin' DAVE RAISTRICK (ultra-popular Skegness Weekenders and Stars & Stripes Records), who not only picks up the vinyl hunting gems in the states, but knows how to shuffle them in the right order on the decks at numerous venues.  Many of you will remember his Lifeline guest spot in particular.

Regular guest DJ (and roadie)  ARTHUR FENN and myself as resident will aim to compliment an interesting and enjoyable mix of soul music - with our BOOMERANG policy of featuring 60s & 70s soul.

...If I'm not mistaken, all our guest dj's have been spinning on stage since the 70s/80s and still keep it fresh.  Come with your hearts and ears open, throw some talc on the dancefloor if you wish, prop up the bar with a smile instead of a chin stroke - and please, just enjoy!

p.s.  Arthur is on first and last this time.  If we set up early, he'll hit the decks well before 8pm ;-)

---- DINNER is served at the Canal Tavern from 6:30pm, always a boomerang table or two or come early for the bar in the main pub -----

Sun's out and we are later too!...can't wait as not managed to join Len & Andy for trip to Boomerang since Soul Sam's 70th (was that really almost 3 years ago!..honestly one of the best night's I've been to and hope he's okay as he can be at the moment?).

Cheers, Steve.

Many thanks to our special guest DJs Andy & Dave and everyone who came along last night.  Numbers were down with so much going on, but who can ever guess which date is best, even when booking well in advance and doing the research.  Hope everyone enjoyed themselves, we were treated to a special push on 70s gems this time.

Our next date is Saturday 2nd August for the annual '9 hour summer special' starting at 4pm - with special guest dj's SOUL SAM and STEVE GUARNORI joining ARTHUR FENN and myself on the decks.   Sam is currently receiving follow-up chemo from his cancer op last year and needing some time out to see this through, but is looking forward to returning to the wheels of steel with more gusto than ever.

For 22nd November starting at 8pm, our special guest DJs are ADY POUNTAIN and TATS TAYLOR.

As you said Maria, slightly fewer in last night but that didn't have any effect on the atmosphere. I was tired, had a difficult week, but still managed to get up and dance quite a bit. Good music from all DJs, loads of tunes I didn't know, so please post your playlists. Thanks to Arthur for playing Here I Am. Nice to see my friends there; had a very tasty meal, decent journey back to London, and a rest sitting in the garden when I got home. And have booked my room for the alldayer. Thanks to Maria and the other DJs and of course the Canal Tavern staff.

Thanks to all involved in Boomerang for a lovely evening, I enjoyed the guest D.J’s spots, both of whom created ‘lively debate’ in our area. I particularly enjoyed saying to Eddy…..”No, you’re completely wrong!”, then swiftly ’marching’ to the dance floor, only to be joined by him a few moments later (Big smile)…..”You were right”……Great stuff!  :D

Arthur played a couple of blinders of which I haven’t a clue what they were - will you play them again next time please?

It was great to see everyone.

Thanks again.

Len (nys’)

P.s - Natalie, the corner missing off the ‘Lennys’ event flyer you were asking about, is the ‘cut edge’……..honest
