MASTERS OF SOUL!! with Special Guest MARK GURNEY on
This event is now over
Yes it's that special time again folks! 'Movember' 28th @ 'Satan's Circus', Wenlock & Essex, Islington...... 7.30pm till Midnight. It's time for your monthly fix of rare soul in the Capital!
Last month's do was a corker! Our Halloween Special was indeed very special! Thanks to all you lot who made the effort to come along to support our quest to make Thursday the new Friday, especially those of you who dressed for the occasion…it was a proper party.
For Halloween night, we had the very great pleasure of having not one, but TWO special guest Dj's … the return of the mighty KITCH to MOS and also the incredible DEAN ANDERSON, a very rare opportunity to catch him on the decks as he doesn't do many soul nights these days, so we were greatly honoured to have yet ANOTHER exclusive to offer you. We handed over the decks to the boys for the last 2 and a half hours and it was quality all the way… massive tunes, exclusives, cover ups, acetates….you name it … they brought it. Thanks from everyone boys for playing your awesome tunes for us …. it was brilliant.
So, to 'Movember'… our LAST Masters Of Soul for the year 2013 …we'll be taking a Christmas break in December. So, we wanted to go out with a bang …... We are extremely pleased to be able to welcome MARK GURNEY as our very special guest Dj….. those of you 'in the know' will be aware of just how much quality and class Mark has, with over 30 years of collecting behind him, expect some Massive Soul, Jazz, Disco & Boogie! He is well-known as the “Independent Movement” founder, and he's Dj'd with the best of them, so we're really looking forward to hearing what he has to play! We think you'll be very surprised!
Mark will be joining your residents Leona Murphy, Yann Vatiste and Naoko, they'll be bringing you the finest in rare soul, crossover, underplayed 60's & 70's, funk, disco and whatever else they can rummage out of those magic record boxes.
As usual, there will be lots of lovely, reasonably priced food on offer for you alongside some very nice brews and ales, so you can come straight from work and bring your dancing shoes in your bagNote: this is now a stripped down post-event display
