A life of passion for Soul music.
Back in the early 1970’s two local Congleton school friends Paul Dale and Adrian Swindells began to take an interest in music and in particular black American soul music. Their interest in collecting records and music lead them to form their own mobile disco business. For a number of years they performed as the ‘Audio Arts Mobile Disco’ at various functions, venues and clubs throughout the Cheshire and Staffordshire area. Then in 1975 their interest in soul music took them both on their first of many visits to the world famous ‘Wigan Casino’ northern soul all night disco. The Wigan Casino was seen as the Holy Grail for soul music and its legacy still lives on to this day. In the late 1970’s their passion for northern soul music saw them promoting a number of successful northern soul nights locally at the Congleton Town Hall.
The Wigan Casino eventually closed in the early 1980’s and as time moved on their lives also began to change and they gradually moved apart as they became more involved with family life and their chosen careers. However, neither of the guys ever lost their passion and interest in soul music.
In more recent times the two guys have returned to their roots and are once again regularly attending some of the new Northern Soul venues that are now operating up and down the country.
With their regained interest in the soul music scene, Paul and Adrian have now decided for the first time since the 1970’s to run new ‘soul music’ party night at the Congleton Town. The function will be playing all kinds of quality soul music on the original vinyl records from the labels of Tamla Motown, Stax, Atlantic along with Northern Soul and of course all of the very best 1970’s club classics.
This promises to be a really terrific night and we would welcome everyone to come along and enjoy some of the best and original dance music ever created.
So before ‘Time will pass you by’ come on and listen to ‘This old heart of mine’ and we are sure that you will have ‘One wonderful moment’ whilst dancing ‘Out on the floor’ to the best in ‘Sweet soul music’!!!
Proceeds from the event will be used to raise money to support a national charity namely :-…Parkinson's UK
