Northern, in Hemel?????, last Northern do I went to in that kneck of the woods, bit further down the M1,we got a 'slapping' for the way we danced.

Is it good social and the chance of a 'proper' dance, spins, shuffling etc ???

Hi Guys,

Shaun, really looking forward to it too.

Zootsuit, we attract a really friendly, mixed crowd. Some regular Northern event attendees, local scooterists who love the scene, some seniors from the local dance club who come to enjoy the music and some really old farts like me, still wearing my baggies and talking about nights at Wigan. We don't play the current scene monsters, the majority will be oldies, classics and an odd few modern and R n B tracks. Great dance floor, no talc needed and a really nice atmosphere. Everybody is welcome and if you do manage to join us, please come and say hello!

Hi Willow

Thanks for the reply,if you're an 'old fart' what does that make me :), I was referring to the Northern do's they held a couple of times at Watford, was it the Mecca?, big dance hall anyway.

Not going to be able to make this one but I seem to remember Blueten and Kimbo mentioning Hemel to me one time, anyway, weve all been invited to a 60th birthday bash in Wolverhampton tonight, NO, they've not reopened the Cats :), BUT, I'll keep an eye out for the next one, you guys ought to get yourselves to the Soul in a Bowl do's in Rushden, brilliant.

Used to work with a guy from Watford, Tony Watts, he used to go to Casino, hitched it from Hemel for years, his old maN USED TO OWN A PUB which was demolished a few years back, lives in the flats just off the round about opposite Maylands, perhaps you know him ?.

Hi Zoot,

Sorry you couldn't make it. We had almost 120 in and a really good night, busy floor and a terrific guest spot by Wilko.

Next one is Saturday 12th April.

I can't recall Tony, but he lives about 1/4 of a mile away from the venue, maybe he will come with you if you can get down to the next one.

The Watford Venue was called The Top Rank or Baileys, the Mecca was in Stevenage.

The Cats is now a car park isn't it or was the last time I was in Temple Street?

Great venue, loved it.
