Many thanks to all the KGB regulars and everyone who travelled to the KGB last saturday, even more so because of the terrible weather conditions. Also with it being a month where it's the first friday and second saturday there were lots of events on locally over the weekend.

A massive thanks to guest D.J.'s Mick2Dinners and Dave Glover for an excellent 2 hour spot between them. Classic northern all the way, top stuff lads. That's why Junction 36 is packed every month.

Thanks also to Lauren, (the managers daughter) for helping out on the door. It was her first night with us and she did a great job. Everyone made her welcome as all soulies always do. She really enjoyed the night and we hope to see her back again very soon, thanks again.

Numbers were down on what we normally get but every now and then we get a group of young and upcoming, soulies of the future, I think. Very polite, really enjoy the music, a couple of good dancers among them and they NEVER dance with their drinks, bonus. Great to see you enjoying northern soul and boosted the crowd to what we normally get.

Thanks to the manager, Andy, for his help in putting this night on and thanks to the bar staff and everyone who volunteer their help at the end of the night to put stuff away, you are all great friends.

Looking forward to next month allready, see you all out and about somewhere soon, Barry, KGB, KTF.

Well Barry you've beat me too it,

And you've done a great write-up might i say of Saturdays event, once again i was impressed with the numbers who attended and again i thought this was a great turnout and especially as the weather was so bad on Saturday night (and still is as i'm writing this post)

Lauren the young lady on the door was lovely, very pleasant and professional and a fantastic asset to the team and was very proficient in the use of the new "KGB entry hand stamp" that was to become a source of amusement for the next couple of days it wouldn't come off no matter how much i scrubbed at it at one point i was even considering laser removal or dermabrasion to remove it on but Tuesday after attacking said stamp with a nail brush and old school tablet of soap it had finally gone and the skin should have healed in a week or two....only joking! and a great job Lauren!

Well once again big pats on the back for the two guest DJ's on the night firstly "Mickey"2"Dinners" (a strange name for a fella so slim) but that aside a good workman like spot behind the decks, giving the dance floor a fine offering of club classic and old school soul and the dancers obliged by never once leaving the floor empty a sound stint that was very much disc after disc with very little time spent on the mike but it worked and the music flowed and the dancers followed.

The second main spot of the evening went to Dave Glover who like "Mickey"2"Dinners before him he followed on in a no frills and no messing style and didn't waste anytime in getting on with business once again the mike patter was kept to a bare minimum with Dave going straight in with up-tempo dancers and playing many old time 60's soul favorites that were given an outing mixed with a nice blend of Casino and Mecca tunes thrown in for good measure, a solid performance, that once aging keep the dance floor buzzing.

And to finish the night off Barry "Mr KGB" Holland took control of the decks after doing the warm up spot in Mrs KGB's absence and did (in my humble view) gave a slightly different set for him although in the frame work of his usual style it had been freshened up a little and sounding both crisp and very in keeping with a policy of not playing the same set every month and with the addition of an all time classic Bacharach & David song by Dionne Warwick pulled off a master stroke and had a huge dance floor coup and a massive floor filler in the process, a great spin and a well thought out set that did cross all the T's and dot all the I's.
