The Sunday Soul Sessions on

Event Information

Troop;

Come and Join Steve Scotney & Brian Goucher on the first Sunday in every month between 7 & 11 and hear the finest soul music, we have four half hour spots going begging and the first come first served and all that, so bring some tunes. Its £2 in but all the monies is going to the Air Ambulance charity the pub sponsors.Northern, sweet, modern, funk and even a touch of deep if thats what you want.

The room is a vaulted ceiling so the sound echoes around the room, original wooden floor so great for some slipping and sliding. (No Talc though please)

I'm hoping we can provide a place where like minded folks can meet up and talk soul over a few beers before we start work the next day.

Car parking is free, behind M & S/GPO and then its a 5 minute walk.

See you there

A few weeks away I know but just a heads up first Sunday each month starting July for this new night for anyone interested...hopefully seen as another good excuse to meet up and forget about the week ahead while listening to some decent soul, 60's to current things.

We look forward to seeing you there early if you want to bring some records or CDs along to play a few in one of the four half hour spots during the night..not too much hundred mile an hour stuff though please...it is a Sunday  :D  :thumbsup:

Cheers, Steve.

As requested I have sorted out 8 or so choice RnB.

Me and Rob will be down tomorrow.

Kev

I'm guessing whatever is played by people tonight there will be a recurring question around the room..."what's on the other side mate?" :D .I have no idea but will be great to find out on a few. Looking forward to it as I hear the previous nights there a few years back were good. Cheers.

Great night & will be back depending on circumstances. (i.e. the other half/possible holidays & Albert my chauffer wanting to come again having got lost trying to find a car park)

Is it possible for a few playlists?

Will bring a few tunes to play next time if that's ok.

Hi Pete;

The next time you come, let me know, you should have my mobi and I will reserve you a spot. Playlists going up over the next couple of days, Hammy if your reading this, playlist if you can mate.

You know where to park now so Albert has no excuses.

Echo everything Brian said. Great people one and all and good to make some new friends at the same time.

Heard some cracking stuff all night and despite the wealth of knowledgable people in tow there were still many a tune dropped in which drew enquiries and appreciative toe tapping.

Posting my selections in "Playlists" for those interested.

Roll on 3rd August.
