Not been to Skeggy since the 6TS, on Lambretta Li 150 , Parka and other things.

Looking forward to a great weekend with 'her who must be obeyed', a bad back, itchy feet and a parched palate.

Let the fun commence    :P  :g:

Just returned from Butlins soul weekender.
On Sunday evening whilst performing Tommy took a turn for the worse and appeared to collapse whilst performing loving on the losing side, he was helped from the stage. The audience concern for Tommy was obvious as they chanted support for Tommy.
The professionalism of the entire team was impressive in the circumstance; Diane Shaw and Johnny Boy helping Tommy off the stage and Russ started spinning immediately even though it was obvious he was concerned about the welfare of his Friend. Alan King returned early and took over the DJ duties and Russ was able to go and see Tommy.
A couple of hours later Tommy returned to the stage for the medley but was supported by Eddie Holman, Judy Street, Diane Shaw, Johnny boy and Deane Parrish.
I assume Tommy's health was affected by the heat because it was bloody hot being in the audience so on stage I imagine it would be extremely uncomfortable.
When things like this occur I am reminded that that the soul family are caring and supportive of each other and 'Keep the faith' really means something and isn't just a few meaningless words strung together.
Hope you are feeling better today Tommy, your soul family loves you.

What an absolutely mind blowin', fantastic, incredible weekender ..................in the words of the illustrious Morgy  "I can't spake"

Really impressed with Judy Street and Dean Parrish, the concern shown for Tommy by everybody was heart warming  as an 'elder statesman' of soul and at 81, it speaks volumes for the shear professionalism of the guy when he returned on stage at the end (when did it end????) so as not to disappoint the audience. In the modern times of 'me, me and if there's any left over, me' you cannot be moved by his courage and dedication.

I fully endorse the comment on the heat generated at the Reds venue .............when will some of these places invest in that new fangled system called Air Conditioning, the ceiling fans (when on) were utterly useless and it was no surprise that the acts were continually mentioning the heat

Apart from a few Richard Craniums that didn't like the chit chat in between songs by the performers, an experience that I'll treasure

All the best Tommy get back to West Yorkshire safely and ingest some Tyke air
