This event is now over

Hi everyone and welcome to the next Banbury Soul Club event of 2015.

Saturday 5th September - 8pm to 1 am

The Trades & Labour Club

32 West Bar Street

OX16 9RR

Pay on the door is still only £5.00.

We are now firmly established in our new venue.

For those that haven’t been here yet a reminder of the advantages of this new location.

Free car parking right next door, realistic bar at Labour Club prices and most importantly it has a wooden dance floor with a raised stage and the acoustics are brilliant.

Another plus is it’s all on ground floor level with no stairs to contend with.

Anyway onto the night itself.

Well this is going to be a unique night for Banbury Soul Club.

We are very pleased to welcome for the first time at Banbury Soul Club none other than Mick H.

I don’t believe it is an exaggeration to say Mick is one of the top Rare and Northern Soul DJ’s in the world.

His DJ experience encompasses all the top UK Clubs, including the iconic 100 Club, Lifeline, Boomerang, Prestatyn and Cleethorpes Soul weekender's.

And his European and International experience includes Valencia, Hamburg and Thailand Soul weekender's.

Mick has kindly agreed to do two one hour sets for us.

The first “early doors” set will be of lesser known and rare underplayed sounds.

I’ve had the pleasure, on more than one occasion, of listening to Mick’s rare and underplayed sets.

It really is a pleasure and education to listen to his selections when he has the opportunity to play his own choices.

This will be followed an hour later by a set of current niter sounds, oldies and favourites.

So an eclectic mix of soul covering all genres and tempos.

In summary this will genuinely be a “something for everyone” evening and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

So make sure you come along and enjoy a superb soulful night’s entertainment for only £5.

Mick will be supported by the Club residents, all long term collectors.

Charlie, Steve and Tom playing their own choices of danceable soul music to guarantee a brilliant night.

Anyway we all hope to see you all on Saturday 5th September 2015.

Admission is just £5.

Back for a new season of events.  Adding as many new and “difficult to get” guest DJ’s as we can. Starting with Mick H.  Everyone on the scene knows how good he is.  We have him so get here.   You’ll receive two quality sets to die for.   See you all on the Nite.

Cheers………..    Tom.

Due to an accident at work Mick H is unable to attend this Saturday at Banbury Soul Club.

He has fallen through a ceiling and badly damaged his knee.

He is gutted to let us down but has promised to DJ for Banbury Soul Club next year.

As you can imagine it is difficult to get a guest DJ at this late hour.

But Banbury's own Eddie Hubbard has agreed to step in at the last minute.

Eddie is well known on the scene and has DJ'd  at prestigious events like the 100 Club, Burnley and Cleethorpes Weekender.

So I'm sure he will do a sterling job on the night.

Apologies to all those who were hoping to attend to see Mick.

But this is beyond all our control.

I'm sure you all wish Mick H a speedy recovery so we can welcome him to the Club next year.

OK, Sh*t happenz !   But hey we have Eddie Hubbard stepping up to the mark.  Superb taste in our music and knows how to fill the dance floor.  No worries.  All of us back together again – great.       Let’s get serious – a day to go.

See you all @ "the go-go”.    Tom.

Well, shame to hear about Mick's accident.  Speedy recovery Mick, from all of us here at Banbury Soul Club.

Mick will be joining us at a later date, obviously when he is back to 'match fitness'.

Right - as they say "the show must go on".  Really pleased we managed to get Eddie to do a set for us.  Luckily, for us we had a top DJ and good friend of ours, right on our doorstep......

So, we are all fired up and raring to go, no problems there, as always.

See you on the night.

Well it looks like we have settled into our new home, at Banbury Labour Club :)  after our third event there.  The Labour Club are very pleased with having us there, I think we have passed our probation now Lol!  And we have booked the venue for all our next year.

Dates to follow - with DJ's.

Apologise for any events that we have clashed with over the past few months, but this year we have had to take the dates offered us.  All back to normal next year though.

We had a great night Saturday.  Shame about Mick H's unfortunate accident.  But he has informed us he will definately be dj'ing for us in the near future.  But got to say Eddie Hubbard played a fantastic spot.  And did us proud .......

Us residents were all in full form too.  Enjoying playing out our new buys over the summer period.

Many thanks to all the travellers.  Just a reminder 14th November - our 12th Anniversary.  Please to announce our Guest DJ's are Sean Chapman and Nige Brown.
