Really looking forward to another great night at the Alford this Saturday 27th June, The last few months have all been packers and I'm sure this one will be the same.
Saturdays guest DJ is local favourite Norman Edwards, Norman has been DJing around the Warrington area for more years than I can count so has loads of experience, he is a well respected DJ in Warrington and always plays stuff that people want to dance to.
If you like mainly oldies with a bit of other stuff thrown in for good measure you will love this venue, if you haven't tried us yet why not pop a long and see for yourselves.
Hopefully we will see some of you there.

Hi Folks,

Just a quick note to reiterate John's comments.

The past few events really have been packed so a huge "Thank You" for your support and an advisory note to try to get to the event before 9.30 if you want to be fairly sure of a seat and a table (not that you'll be sat down for long with Stormin' Norman behind the decks).  All those 'in' before 9.30 will also qualify for the early bird £4.00 rate too (£5.00 thereafter).

Norman really did us proud last year and given his ear for quality I suspect there will be a few blisters, sore feet and sweaty 'pits by the time he's finished with us!

Moz is back this time after his trip stateside to buy records so if you want a dip in his sales box you're advised to collar him sharpish as there's a big queue forming.  I have a sneaking suspicion that he'll be giving quite a few of his new purchases an airing, so pin back your ears, pop on your dancing shoes and hold on!

Biff will, I'm sure, thrill and delight you with his impeccable taste and his never ending box of goodies (every time I see him he plucks another batch of absolute belters from his loft / under the stairs and makes me drool).  I'll try my level best not to b*gger things up in between times.

We really do hope you can pop down, and if you've never been before go on, give us a try...we think you might just like it!

Hi Folks!

Just a quick note to thank everyone for their support last night.

With many of our regulars attending the Bridlington weekender, and with a plethora of events locally, attendance was understandably affected.  This has been a pattern in June during previous years so it was to be expected, though in all fairness it's only been June's event where I can remember the attendance being below around 100.

Despite that, those that came along seemed to have a great time, with comments from a couple of peeps who were grateful for a bit more room on the dancefloor than they'd normally get at a Northern Line.

We had quite a few travelers last night so "thank for" for your sterling efforts, it'd be nice to see the new faces again when we're back to full strength.

As expected, Norman Edwards gave 100% during his set with classic tune after classic tune calling a fair proportion of those attending to the floor.  He was also armed with snippets of information about artists and lyrics when introducing his records, snippets that some of which I'd never heard before...but as I'm writing this I can't recall even one of them!  I think that old age has well and truly set in (me, not Norman).

We're back in 4 weeks time on Saturday 25th July when our Special Guest will be Phil Dick.  Phil has an absolutely amazing collection of rare and original records, if you've never heard him DJ before then boy are you in for a treat.  I hope you can come along to support Phil, you won't regret it.

Once again, many thanks for your support.

Kind regards

Many thanks to all that turned up on Saturday Im sure you all enjoyed yourselves. Norman did up proud with a great mix of tunes as always. Numbers were considerably done on recent months but that's not surprising when you consider so many of our regulars were enjoying themselves on the yearly jaunt to Bridlington. Some people actually commented on how they enjoyed more room on the dancefloor than normal so they seemed happy enough. Next month we hope to be back to our normal numbers with special guest DJ Phil Dick making the trip over from Leeds, Phil has a tremendous record collection and plays for the floor so you will really enjoy his spot if you haven't seen him before. hopefully we will see some of you there.
