A thoroughly enjoyable experience....forget the adage..if something's too good to be true....THIS IS TRULY GOOD!...and no buts!!....infact, it's BRILLIANT!...and ive been saying on here for a while now about the playlists and how it's justifiable to attend and see and hear it for yourself...well, Brian & Dave have the agenda off to a tee....7 years can't be wrong in terms of success..that old adage i mentioned has applied on many occasions before for other venues who've tried...Application and belief in open house policy are what makes this an oasis for many travelers, looking for a watering hole, full of soul, that quenches their eternal thirst.

The venue is unassuming on the exterior, yet full of charm and atmosphere on the inside, and once bustling with people in conversation, and fine tunes filling the air, it's easy to appreciate why it's in people's must do diaries.

Absolutely loved the opportunity to get behind the decks, eternally grateful, i am to Brian & Dave for allowing me to do this, there is a waiting list the length of the uk itching to get in here!,which reflects it's enduring popularity...one only needs to review the playlists to understand why djs hanker for a spot.

A pleasure also to meet Steve, Joe & Mick, the other members of the H & G team..all of whom played stunning stuff and plenty of tunes made a note of!..great things from Paul Dallison as well, a total lp addict!, and why not?...so much good stuff hidden away within the confines of 12" vinyl.

I figured it was something like a 250 mile round trip to be part of this Sunday service...but worth the distance traveled and every bit as heavenly, as the music on offer.."where is that rainbow"?..it's in Doncaster...find it now!

Nicola and myself make no bones on how we feel about the H+G  Although we were late in years joining the Sunday events having had a taste now getting close towards 2 yrs having been told by my old friend Dave Bentley to give it a try we havnt looked back. Music of course is the main reason to go and for me it has to be 90% in favour, other things that stand out are the smiling happy faces, with that comes the warmness in the welcome you get. Only knew a small % of the punters mainly older age group but not entirely, having said that we meet up with dear friends such as the NE crew old friends from the midlands and from the SYorks area and of course the South coast. As time we have made some great new people incl the wonderful promoters who have made us so welcome. Its a great venue and its free also there is a safe car park 100yrds down the road or you can park round the back of the pub. Give it a try you wont look back. Gilly

Finally got to dip my toe in - albeit only for a few hours.

Great venue, truly across-the-board music. Lots of 'first-heards' which is just how I like it and more to add to the wants list.

Will definitely visit again with more time to mingle next time but until then big well done to all concerned.

Tank (Tony Horn)
