GET ON UP, SOUL FILM AND CHARITY AFTER PARTY! on
This event is now over
Following the success of our sell-out screening of 'Northern Soul the film' at the end of last year, we're proud to present the North Devon premiere of the fantastic new biopic of Soul Brother No.1 James Brown - 'Get on up'. From the director of 'The Help' it follows the life and music of the Godfather of Soul JB.
The film starts at 7.30pm and will be followed by an after party through until midnight with DJ Pete Robinson (North Devon Soul Club/Big Beat Boogaloo) and Steve B (Boom Boom Room) playing a vibe laden mix of Northern Soul, Motown and Funk through until midnight. There's a licensed bar, and pizzas will be available from the fabulous folk from Stoned.
Tickets are £12 for a premium deckchair (front two rows, limited to 28), or £10 for a standard seat (only 74 available).
You can pay online here: http://www.museumofbritishsurfing.org.uk/shop (50p postage/booking fee applies), or buy at the Museum of British Surfing in Braunton - see the information section of the website for opening times - http://www.museumofbritishsurfing.org.uk/information/opening-times/
All proceeds support the work of registered charity 1131433 in the local area - the Museum of British Surfing provides a community room, skateboard facilities & unique cultural events in North Devon.
