Wow ,the Rugby event was blinding .The floor was bouncing from early on ,the tunes were top quality .That Losing Control was a proper tune .I was joined by my friends from Hull who were down and i have to say what a great event .Well run, wonderful energy in the place and no dodgy oldies     all fresh   .The second room didnt dissapoint either           Running wild played out  !         .I havent been to a nighter like this for some years ,if you havent been get there .If you think our god is dead try this its still alive Love it

Last minute decision to go due to a fortunate change of plans that enabled us to attend so glad that was the case, as ever Rugby delivers an excellent allnighter experience, love seeing the many youngsters that attend, what an great impression this event must be making on them. Looking forward to our next visit which won`t be until September as we are out of the country on holiday for the June event unfortunately.

Rugby goes from strength to strength.......I have always enjoyed these All Nighters (I never attended the Soul Nights or the All Dayer & due to working abroad I cant always make every All Nighter), but in the last year to 18 months or so, there has been an almost inperceptible something that has happened, there is an edge & an air of anticipation through out the night that puts Rugby up there with the best All Nighters, both past & present....it was another full house, with both rooms rockin' with full dance floors all night.  I arrived about 9pm & was thrown out just after 6am....& we had a blinder, I spent most of my time in the Freestyle Room, as I was peddling my vinyl wears in there, & I enjoyed pretty much everything the DJ's threw at us, as did everyone else, judging by the dance floor & feed back from mates etc.

Main Room, again, every time I managed to get in there the floor was rammed, I caught parts of sets from most of the DJ's & everyone produced the goods....all the DJ's played great sets, Bald Mark was on fire & the floor mirrored that....Dave Rimmer played the unissued Lorraine Chandler & wow !!!, Willingams played an awesome super rare set mostly, but dropped in amongst the grails was the odd surprise.  Tom Page has amassed quite a collection & kudos for Sian & Dean to encourage & harness his enthusiasm, another well put together set of records that had the floor bouncing.  Soul Sam & Johnny Weston, both played out of thier skins, as you would expect & along with all the other DJ's did there thing & made it an authentic, proper Nighter with all the ingredients you would expect from such.

From a personal point of view, it was a pleasure to DJ to a well up for it, open minded dance floor, who responded to everything I could throw at them over two extremely enjoyable sets.....thanks to Sian & Dean for having me back on in the FS Room, to the dancers & for the many positive comments to the sets I played, both on the night & since, with some fantastic messages & questions regarding records....it really was a blast !.

Was great to meet up with friends old & new & to make the aquaintence of others.....if you havnt been yet, you really need to get your finger out, cos this is really happening !!!

In Baghdad, in recovery, & still buzzing....

Our second visit, the last one was great but for me I think this one was better?

Had a great time in both rooms specially enjoyed the variety in the main room, heard loads of new stuff in there along side plenty of imaginative oldies.

So keep up the good work & as they say we'll be back.

Cheers

Had'nt been to one iof these events for some time so great to see and chat to folks not seen for a while, not all good news though, you know who you are and sincerely hope everything turns out OK for you both. Les was his usual exhuberent self LOL, cracks me n Mark right up. Really busy, both number of people in attendance AND floors filled all the time, the only negative, which is REALLY a positive, only heard a coupe of tunes I Knew, the down side is the wallet is going to be depleted by viynl aquisition in the coming weeks. Left about 12.00 as was'nt feeling too chipper but assume the rest of the night was a blinder for everyone too, caught John and Terry's first set in the alternative room, some REALLY good tunes, but as I told them not heard any of them before either :), AND should have taken my box :).
