'Dekka' and I have had an invite to spin some British Beat , 6ts rnb, mod & northern soul at this weekender which is the Palmarium Scooter Club (Perpignan) 30th Anniversary event.

Fabulous area of France where the Pyrenees meet the Med just before the Spanish border and easy travel by air into Perpignan , then train down the coast or the 1euro bus , or train all the way via Eurostar and TGV with some great adv 'promo' fares.

Fabulous couple of evenings at the Palmarium Scooter Club (Perpignan) 30th Anniversary Rallyee weekender at Banyuls Sur Mer - a magical small town/resort on the Mediterranean where the Pyrenees meets the sea just before the Spanish border . The two evening events featured a couple of live bands, then a great mix of tunes - mod, ska, 6ts rnb, rarer soul, british beat and northern from all the djs in a 18th century converted wine warehouse.
Amazing hospitality for Dekka and I -unbeknown to us, the DJ rider included copious amounts of Catalan beer, local wine, champagne and oysters ! Great vibe, atmosphere and packed dance floor throughout with up for it crowd. Weekender also included custom scooter show on the sea front at Banyuls. Met and spent time with 'Paddy Smith' - In all honestly I previously thought he was a fictional character who designed the legendary 'scooter rally' patches under a pseudonym! How wrong could we have been - larger than life, living in France, organising rallyees like they used to be in the UK, dyed in the wool socialist and still designing the patches!
Had a wonderful time - big thanks to everybody especially Eddy and all the 'Palmariums', Greg Boogaloo - who organised the DJ invite for Dekka and I,  Jeff the fish & Valerie, Laurent Vidal, Paul Ridley who gave us a lift from Collioure and everyone from far and wide who gave Dekka and I such a fantastic and enthusiastic reception for what we played - they danced and danced asked about particular records.
