Hi all its that time of year again our annual Benefit Day in aid of Ex-Servicemen. All proceeds are given to Ex Military Charities & over the last 5 years we have raised £11,500 to help all who have donned the uniform of our Country. This year all monies raised are being given to a charity called "Soldiers Off The Streets" http://www.soldiersoffthestreet.org/ their aim is to help as many as possible of th 45,000 homeless ex-service personnel in the uk. The last 5 years events have been held at Stanley Rd Sports & Social Club but unfortunatelythis has been sold for housing redevelopement. Our new venue is literally 500 yards away from our old venue. It has a really good main room with a massive wooden dance floor and another smaller sized room also with a small dancefloor. The Polish Club Chamber Rd Oldham OL8 4NZ Who are kindly letting us have the venue free of charge for this event.We have been very lucky once again to have the a line up of really excellant NORTHERN DJ'S to spin all original Northern sounds on the vinyl you love. A mixture of old classics from Wigan, Stafford,Blackpool Mecca and a host of other top class soul venues plus loads of modern northern anthems will be played on original vinyl. I would also like to say thank you to all the many dj's who have offered their services this year FOR FREE for this event. However we are staying loyal to all the people who have helped us over the last 5 years with great distinction. We have however got 2 new DJ's on our rosta they are Debbie Carty who is a well known DJ on the Scooter & Soul Scene & Fay L. Jones who has gigged all over the place. Myself and Fellow Oganiser Alan Derby would like to say a massive thank you to all who have helped in previous years and are helping again this year THANK YOU ALL. This event is in aid of a great cause for all the Women and Men who have served our Country enabling us to have the the life we lead. They really do deserve all & everyone's respect and assistance. Many of them have come back from serving us with totally Life Changing Injuries and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Our aim is to help the charities who give extra aid over and above what is generally publically avaiable. Put this date into your diaries now . There is a free car park at the club & food will be available all day. Drinks prices are very reasonable . Mick & Jo run a really great Retro/Mod clothing shop in Oldham that loads of designer wear from Doc Martens to Relco & Merc shirts etc , also many other good mod brands.
