Really enjoyed the weekender and big thanks to the hotel owners, staff and everyone who made the effort to attend and make it one to remember for all the right reasons I think...of course to Jem for organising and promoting what was without doubt a very time consuming event to put on, also his long-suffering missus and Son for all their hard work on the door & putting up with him at home :D+ usual other helpers on that side, to Louise Austin on the "Groove On" side of things and for the surprise guest PA, finally to the other boss Len and ALL the DJs for their great choices and banter...such a great range of SOUL to soak up over the 20+ hours in both rooms. I certainly got a kick out of playing a whole bunch of different things in that great conservatory room over the three nights and having a good ole dance on the Saturday. Cheers all, until next time! Steve

Well 'just to be kind', I won't ring you for our usual deep 'event analysis' just yet then Jem

Pleasantly surprised is all I can say, great to have proof that there really is a call for what we are doing - and especially great to see 'The Modern Room' is back with a bang! It really was kicking in there, right up until 2.00am (ish!) The way that second room 'morphed' into Groove On, from my Mid-tempo type stuff to Brian Gouchers' rarities, to Dave Weldings' choices including new releases, on to Max Reese, who was absolutely in his element, then to a fantastic 'feel good' set from Louie Martin - Now he is a DJ! Steve Scotney then 'underlined' the evening with some great 'goodnight folkz' tunes which finished it off nicely on a real high! It was a fantastic experience in that room - People simply enjoying good soul music!

Not to mention the impromptu live act from Paul Mclean of Hi Tension which was a real treat - Hopefully Jem will post up the filming of that.

All of the above, along with The Main Room of course! made for a very special weekend.

All the best,

Len

Edit - Here ya go...
